Winter break

Ok, so contrary to everyone else's entries...so it seems, I am actually very happy to be home and think that my break will go by way too quickly. I'm thrilled to be bored again! Well, actually, I'm not bored because I still have about a thousand things to do over break, but I took the first couple days off.

Saturday I finished my exam at 1 and got on the road at 2. I made it back in record time including a half hour detour just to go to Starbucks (because it was in a shopping area and it was packed!), a random accidental detour to 94 E to Chicago (no reason other than I can't read signs) and a detour to go pee in Kenosha which ended up being a dead end...I swear the Culvers didn't exist. After which I managed to spill a whole bottle of water on my pants making it look like I couldn't hold it. Nice.

Saturday night Heather and I went to Madison to a party with Tayrn, William, etc. I was incredibly exhausted. You know how sometimes the stars randomly collapse in elevators or whatever and are taken to the hospital and it's deemed that they suffer from exhaustion? Well I think that was me on Saturday. A long semester with way too long exams and too much driving...not to mention an empty stomach and alcohol are not a good combination. I just wanted to go to bed but that wasn't possible. I had a really bad experience that night and would rather never live through it again, but thanks to Heather and Tayrn I survived. That's what true friends are for.

So Sunday I came back, went to church, and took a four hour nap since I had only slept like a total of six hours the past two nights combined. Then I watched t.v. like all day - it was fabulous.

Monday morning bright and early I got my wisdom teeth pulled. Is it wrong that I was totally digging the laughing gas? When the dentist walked in the room and all he was doing was looking through my file, I found that hilarious. Wow, maybe I should lay off that stuff. Then when they were putting the cuff on my other arm for my blood pressure, I felt the need to explain why there was a huge bruise there (from donating blood) - and he was like, oh good, I thought you were shooting heroin. Once again, I thought this was outrageously funny.

So then I wake up, and lo and behold, it was exactly like he said it would be...I didn't even realize anything at all had happened. Except for the fact that I tried to smile at him but I couldn't move my mouth...I just drooled. Yeah, that's right, that's so hot. The only bad thing was I was so mad at my dad because he was AN HOUR late getting me! He was like, I have a hair appointment and it might run late....grrrr!! I don't think the dentist was pleased much either. My dad made up for it by buying me ice cream and doing whatever I asked all day, but still, an HOUR late, GEEZ!

So for most of yesterday I pretty much alternated sleeping with watching t.v. and my brother got me soup from Quiznos. Yum. My dad made me pudding and then I ate Ramen at night. Nothing like the liquid diet. Oh, and don't think that chocolate was out of the question. My brother had and ingenious idea..just let it melt in your mouth. So, that's what I did. I was pretty much doped up all day and it was great. I had an excuse to NOT DO ANYTHING!

Apparently Phi Mu doesn't understand that though. The lady from headquarters was not being very nice when I told her that we were on break and it would be near impossible for me to make sure everyone applied online in time for the conference...especially since I can't talk. Grr...have some sympathy people.

So far, break's been pretty good. I've been treated like a queen, watched t.v. and eaten ice cream, and slept. However, today, I have a feeling things will change. I still have to make two stained glass pieces, go through all the Phi Mu stuff, and do my entire London book. Oh yeah, and send Christmas cards... honestly, I don't know if those will get done and that's so unlike me, I've just been bogged down so much lately.

I know time will fly and I guess that's good...but sometimes I wonder if I could just hit pause for awhile.
