The Upgrade.

No matter where we are standing in life, we'll always need an upgrade.

These days, i take random notes once in awhile on the most random subjects - when i ought to be studying hard. O well, i'll give myself three-four months time for the first one. (i'm too lazy for my own good.) But i can't help but be a little greedy and want to take in as much as i could. A few weeks ago, i tried to understand what 6 Sigma was all about, and then reviewed Kaizen. A few days later, i looked up the definitions for music genres like garage rock, art rock, and post-punk revival. Critics come up with all these categorizations, but the truth is i can't tell them apart, and all i ever do is lump them together in my head as "good music" and that's about it. Tonight, i finally resumed this task and started reading about the Kyoto Protocol, only to be distracted by the traditional method of making tea. Have i ever mentioned how much i love Chinese tea? i doubt i could ever go a day without tea, especially Iron Goddess and Sau Mei ("Longevity eyebrow").

It's funny when i look back and remember everyone dismissing my desire to be thinner as something that had to do with nothing but vanity. Good God i was so chubby in third year that my eyes disappeared into squints and i had trouble moving around. Mom told me tonight that she hates my legs now cuz she can sorta see the blue from some of the veins and it made my legs look old. But screw it, i thought. They may never be model thin but so what, back in frosh, i couldn't even walk half the campus without wanting to die. By the final year, i could walk from rez to Chapters :) Yay for healthiness, i don't mind my calves (that much) as long as i can walk and run :):)

No matter who we are, it's always nice to be able to encourage each other in our goals, be it diet goals or career goals :)

But of course, we both joked about how nice it would be if we could marry a trusting, rich and smart older guy with several terminal diseases (because one is not enough to kill the guy fast enough haha) and those diseases better not be contagious either (eg. Aids)!

Happy belated Mid-Autumn Festival & (Canadian) Thanksgiving!
