In other news, I'm currently reading The Shadow Queen and loving it. I missed my dear Black Jewels Trilogy friends so! I keep laughing and almost crying at the same time while I'm reading. Ah, Daemon, Lucivar, Jaenelle, Saetan, Geoffrey - it is good to see you all again. Anne Bishop, you forever have my undying buyership. [Oh, God, please let this statement stay true. I once may have thought this about Laurell K. Hamilton, but then.. Oh, please never let the BJT books become a perversion of what it is now! Please let it never sell out! I love these books far more than I ever loved the Anita Blake books, and it would absolutely break my heart - Break. My. Heart. - to see something happen to it like happened to AB. No! I shan't think of such things! Away, terrible, trecherous thoughts! Away!]
In between things, I've also begun reading some H.P. Lovecraft short stories from an anthology of his I recently bought. I hadn't read any of his works before, but I'd heard much about him. And I was not disappointed! I like him even better than Poe. But this may be because I have yet to really forgive Poe for his short story, The Black Cat. And also I think Lovecraft incorporates more fantasy elements, which automatically wins my favor a little more. Though I'm reading The Rats in the Walls right now, and am just kind of "meh" about it. I far preferred The Outsider and The Music of Erich Zann.
