Happy holidays to me! Also, the job interview.

Christmas plans!

So the flight plans aren't really working out to go home for New Years, I think I'm just going to drive. Going to see if I can find someone to share the driving the gas, but I'll still go by myself. Cross country adventure whee!

I get off nights on the 28th, so I'll sleep then leave on the 29th early, get into Freddy that Friday afternoon, and see what happens. I might stay with Scott, one of my old friends who has a house in town, and try and see Mike and Lindsay as well. It'd be really fun to get our old group together for a night of drunkenness :)

Saturday morning I'll drive up to my brother's house and surprise them :) My plan is to tell them that I did get a military flight, and I'll fly in on Sunday morning. That way I get to surprise my brother, who thinks we're planning a surprise for my mom, who thinks I'm not coming down at all :P

Mouhaha.

When I get back I'll probably try to head down to Toronto for the weekend to see my brother and his wife, who are expecting any day now, and to see Camron and Lana, and JR's brother and sister.

Lots of plans!

Job interview at Public Health

Was so hard!  I was expecting tough, but man.  It was about 45 minutes, consisted of me going through my resume and qualifications, followed by what seemed like 2 dozen questions (case studies, 'what would you do if', what are your best/worst qualities, goals, etc) and then after all that was talking about the positions and the unit.  Then, I had half an hour of written questions, followed by submitting all of my references.  All in all, tough.  I think I did well, but I could have done better - I should have spent more time looking up specifics on their current programs and departments.  I knew some, because one of my best friends works there, and talks about what she does all the time (thank goodness I listen :P).

Hopefully I'll hear something before New years, but not counting on it.  My other best friend Jenelle was interviewing for a position there too (there are 3 open), and she found it really hard too!  We talked about it for a long time after, we were both so wound up.

Let's hope for the best - I really have my heart set on working there!

And I did spend a lot of money on pretty new work clothes :D  I got the CUTEST cord blazer, I really should take a picture. On sale half price, dark brown cord material, old 'military' style collar and all the buttons up the front, super cute.
