I had the most tiring week this week ever! Yesterday my ECE teacher wasn't here and neither was the ECA so there was actually no ECEs in the classroom with me other than two supply staffs and the kids were just all going CRAZY!! I hate when the ECEs of the room are not here because that's when the kids tend to misbehave the most!
Gosh, I almost passed out at daycare yesterday running and looking after 24 little monkeys jumping and running around in the classroom. I thought I was going to GO INSANE! But a lot of kids actually left and went home early so in the end so there wasn't actually very many kids left towards the end of the day. I was so extremely exhausted after I got home last night that I could seriously just pass out on my bed and SLEEP!
I have my midterm evaluation coming up this Tuesday but I'm not so nervous or worried about it actually. Because my ECE teacher has actually been giving me a lot of positive feedback and my kids really like me and my activities. Actually, I think they like me a bit TOO MUCH that it's starting to become a bit overwhelming. LOL! I always have kids calling my name every minute to help them do this and do that and if I can play with them. It's overwhelming but in a way it's also very rewarding because it just proves how successful I am at building a very positive and good relationship with the kids. So I'm actually hoping to ace my midterm! I got my first assignment back on Thursday and I got an A-! =D I just made a few little mistakes here and there that can be fixed really easily. Other than that, things are going extremely great in terms of school and all!
And yesterday, for the first time, I put on a very tough role of making a kid apologize to her best friend. This girl from the kindergarten room who's always been extremely rude and bossy to people was calling her friend names and even made her cry! The crying girl came up to me with a tissue on her hand and she held on to my arm to grab my attention and said to me, "Um, excuse me, Carlton was calling me names" with a really sad face on. So, I called the girl Carlton over and asked her what happened and obviously she denies in calling her friend names and so I told her to stop talking and I want to hear from her friend who said she was bullying her. And apparently Carlton was calling her friend "Lady Gaga" and she doesn't want to be called that. Sounds kind of funny, doesn't it? lol. But I guess some kids can get quite emotional at times when they get called names that they don't like. So I asked the crying girl "you don't like being called Lady Gaga, do you?" and she said no as she held her head down with tears in her eyes. Then I asked her "do you only want to be called by your own name and not anything else?" and she said yes again but with her head down. Then I said to her "well, can you tell Carlton that you don't like it when she calls you names like that and ask her to please stop calling you that" and Carlton did end up apologizing and I made sure the girl felt okay after that. It was the very first time that I actually had to act tough and professional like that and I felt a bit proud of myself that I handled the issue pretty well. LOL. Because I'm usually a very soft person and I can never really put on a mean face to anyone, but as a child, I've always grown up to dislike bullies so I actually felt a very great responsibility and sympathy to stand up for the girl and especially when her best friend treats her like that. Because I remember being as a kid, I was always very sensitive about things that other people said to me and I can totally understand how the little girl felt when she was being called something she didn't like. So I actually felt a great pleased of achievement that I was able to help her out when her friend was trying to bully her. Poor girl. I'd totally ditch her best friend because this Carlton girl is seriously SO RUDE and it's not the first time I've ever seen her bully her best friend. I still don't understand why they are even best friends. -___-"
Anyway, so that was my long story for the day. lol.
Moving on, I just pre-ordered these online from
strapya for myself and my brother.
I have had already ordered
a pink Doraemon one about a month ago and received it in the mail about 1 or 2 weeks ago (I forget) and I just absolutely LOVE him. He's so soft and fluffy!
I decided to get another one just in case I ever feel like changing them for my phone and also because I wanted to get one in a different colour to use as a key chain. XD His hat can actually be removed and taken off~ I also ordered this
Doraemon cellphone pouch and received it in the mail along with the pink Doraemon plush doll for my cellphone.
I also picked up this really CUTE pink and purple san-x rilakkuma macaroon suqishy mascot cellphone charm because it is only $5!
Got this Studio Ghibli boxset for my brother because he doesn't have an account with strapya. It comes with six pieces from the "My Neighbour Totoro" anime film. I LOVE TOTORO. And this boxset has almost everything from the movie in there.
That's all for now. Gotta get back to doing homework again.
