I've been deliberating this for a while, but I think I might want to do a study abroad program. I'm really interested in going to Britian or Ireland. I think that would be the best way to immerse myself into the culture. Its been a wierd couple of days. Got a letter from the deadbeatdad which I promptly burned. It caused quite a bit of commotion in the family, that did. Why does she need to burn letters? Does she need more counseling? Does she need to be locked up?
Not to mention that I'm off to Deadbeat City pop. 289. Not excited one bit, mostly because I know the stress involved is probably going to put me in bed for a couple of days. At least I'll be off in Flagstaff on Tuesday to visit NAU, which I AM looking forward to. I'm not happy about having to cook and host a Thanksgiving dinner pretty much by myself. The mother isn't what one would call a good hostess; she gets too paranoid that everything is going to fall apart. It's hard to be the adult in the situation when all I really want to do is just run around and spend the last year of my adolescence actually being a kid.
I'm starting to get nervous about the play. I've never been in a 'real' play before, not counting the one I did for the after-school drama thing. I don't know all of my cues and lines perfectly, so I've got to spend this week drilling them into my fucking brain so that I'm ready for the speed-through when we get back. I'm also hoping that I don't completely freeze up there. I can already see it happening.
Off to eat spaghetti.
