Perfection

Perfection
You are perfect.
My fingertips on your face
are tracing away all doubts
of our love.

Up your cheek
my thumb climbs
slowly skimming its way up

I remember
our first kiss
the stars and warm summer breeze

Your sigh breaks my reverie.
My fingers brush behind your ear

All the phone calls
hours of idle chatter
because I love to talk
I just like knowing you're there

I trace back to your eyes

So much these eyes have seen.
They've watched me cry,
and laugh until I couldn’t breathe.
When I start breathing, the look in them
Just takes my breath away again.

My fingers fall towards your lips

All the kisses and words that
will touch me forever.
They all come flooding my memories,
enough to last a lifetime.

You eyes drift shut
lazily
I reach up to run my fingers
through your long, brown hair.
It's too long.
Giggling quietly I whisper
"you need a haircut"
like I always do.

Before you answer
I draw your head close
tasting your sweet lips
beneath mine
for a brief moment
we are one.

This is the culmination of
all the whispered words
kisses in the dark and
most importantly, our love.

My eyes flutter open
you're always so adorable
right after we kiss.

Your eyes closed so lightly
the small smile on your lips
so inviting for another.

I give in to the temptation
just briefly brushing this time
as I snuggle into your arms
you hold me close and tight

This is my favorite part of the night
being in the safety of your arms.
Up on my tiptoes I whisper
in your ear
"You're perfectly mine.
I love you."
