Yes I know this is old news but it was handwritten and I figured I might as well go ahead and post it.
Damn DSL/BellSouth problems. Monday the internet went out for no apparent reason. I tried everything I knew how to do. I reset the computer-4 times, thinking it was us. I unplugged the modem; finally I reset it- not knowing what else to do. Of course then I had to re-log on. Did I know the user name and password? Apparently not. I tried every combination I could think of. None worked.
So I called the 800 number that was listed if you have technical difficulties, (Tom was unreachable to help me). I got a busy signal for over two hours. When it finally rang, I got a message that they couldn’t answer the line due to technical difficulties. Finally I got through and the message said DO NOT reset your modem - too late. It also said they had had technical difficulties in our area and they were now resolved. I finally got through after midnight and proceeded to sit on hold for over 30 minutes until I finally gave up for the night and resolved to call back the next day.
Tom finally got through on Tuesday after being on hold for over an hour and got the user name and password- I was right on the password but was one letter off on the user name, and got us back online in less than 2 minutes. Damn Phone Company. Now I know just to be more patient before I reset and just call the phone company first to see if there are problem are on the line or there are problems with me.
