gina84 who answered my plea for a prompt and gave me “Ryo gives Jin advice on how to ask Kame out on a date”. I hope you’ll enjoy this ♥
“The easiest way would be to just ask him out in a mail” Ryo says as he flops down on his couch next to Jin and hands him a cold beer.
“A mail? That isn’t very romantic is it?” Jin replies, sounding and looking doubtful as he opens the can without spilling anything.
“Romantic?” Ryo snorts. “If you feel the need to be romantic, just add a few hearts or something at the end”
Jin falls into his state of contemplation as he sips on his beer and Ryo watches him with amusement.

“It didn’t work” is the first thing Jin says as he is let inside the apartment and makes his way towards the living room couch.
“What didn’t work?” Ryo asks following Jin and watches him fall face first on the soft pillows.
“Asking Kazuya out on a date by mail” Jin turns his eyes and look at Ryo with accusing eyes. “He brought Koki with him”
Ryo can’t help but laugh at the image of Jin’s surprise and disappointment when Kame had turned up with Tanaka-kun. It must’ve been a priceless expression.
“Shut up” Jin growls at him from the couch and Ryo lets his laugh subside, only because he’s not particularly fond of whiny Jin. “And where is my beer?”
“I don’t know about your beer, but my beer is in the refrigerator” Ryo smirks, and crosses his arms over his chest. “If you’re a nice boy and say please, I might let you have one”
Jin glares but complies. “Please, your awesomeness can I have a beer?” He’s so easy.
“Sure” Ryo says and goes to fetch the beer.
“Sit up properly you lazy bum” Ryo pokes Jin with his foot once he gets back. Jin groans as he moves to sit up but his eyes lit up for a brief second when Ryo hands him the beer. Ryo lets him take a gulp, and does the same before he brings up the reason for Jin’s visit.
“So tell me what could possibly have gone wrong with my advice”
“Everything apparently” Jin takes another, long gulp from his beer can. “I asked him to have dinner with me, adding a heart at the end, to make it more romantic, and he replied back with a “yes” and two hearts. But then he arrives with Koki. I mean what the fuck is that?”
“Did you make it clear in the mail that it would be a date and not just a friendly meal?” Ryo asks, because he knows Jin isn’t the best with words sometimes.
“Yes…” Jin answers, but sounds a bit hesitant. “I added the hearts at the end of the message”
“What exactly did you write?” Ryo narrows his eyes at Jin and it makes the other squirm.
“Something like, “Free for dinner on Friday?” and then the heart at the end” Jin says and hides his face behind the beer can.
Ryo groans in annoyance and falls back against the couch. “Of course Kame didn’t realize it was an invitation for a date when you put it like that.”
“But I added a heart at the end!” Jin protests. “And Kazuya replied with hearts in his message too!”
“Kame uses hearts with all his friends. he’s a freaking emoticon junkie” Ryo smacks Jin behind the head with a pillow. “You if anyone should know that”
Jin rubs the back of his head as his face morphs into a look of embarrassment and Ryo can’t help but feel sorry for his friend.
“Look” he says and pats Jin on the shoulder. “You’ll just have to give it another try. How about sending him another mail and ask him out again, and this time making it clear that it’s a date.”
“No” Jin says. “I’m not using mail again. Too big of a chance that there will be misunderstandings”
“Are you sure?” Ryo quirks a eyebrow at Jin and Jin nods frenetically in reply. “If you don’t want to use the written word then you have to speak directly to him you know. You sure it wouldn’t freak you out? What if he rejects you?”
Jin’s eyes grow big in a moment of fear but then his face goes back to its normal stupid self. “Kazuya wouldn’t reject me”
“If you’re not scared of getting rejected, then why haven’t you asked him out yet?” Ryo asks, even though he knows Jin is probably right. It’s as clear as a blue sky that Kame likes Jin, and Jin might’ve realized that too. However Kame is a man that loves his work, and Ryo doesn’t know if Kame would actually agree on dating Jin, knowing what risks it could bring.
“Because I want to do it in a romantic way and I suck at being romantic.” Jin sighs and grips his beer can with both his hands.
“And you consider me being good at it?” Ryo snorts. If it’s one word Ryo would never use to describe himself it would be romantic.
“Not really, but you were the only one I could get a hold of” Jin shrugs, and somehow that reply makes Ryo feel offended.
“You should just ask him out the next time you run into him.” Ryo puts his beer on the table and reaches for the remote control to turn on the TV. “Just blurt it out and get it over with. Romantic gestures are overrated”

A couple of weeks later Ryo finds out how the hard way how “the asking Kame out on a date” had gone when he walks in on them kissing in Jin’s room at the agency. It goes un-noticed by the couple who are too preoccupied with each other to notice the world around them. Ryo backs out of the room and once he’s closed it carefully he pulls out a note book from his bag. He tears out a blank paper and quickly scribbles down a short message, both in Japanese and English. He fastens the paper on the door with the help of one of the band aids his sister had given him one time many years ago.
DO NOT DISTURB
He smirks at his work and then walks away whistling while he writes a mail to Jin cancelling their dinner plans, because despite popular belief, Ryo is a good person and has a pretty big heart.
