Summary: Jin didn’t expect to meet them there when he runs into the combini store close to work.
A/N: This kind of came to me in a dream, well fragments of it at least, that I had a few weeks ago. I woke up with a smile on my face and I hope this will bring a smile on your faces as well :)

Jin stops dead in his tracks as he sees and recognizes a little girl kneeling on the floor in front of the shelf with toys. She’s dressed in light blue summer dress with small butterflies in pink printed all over it. Her hair is in two uneven and slightly messy braids and on her feet she’s wearing green sandals. She’s looking at the bouncing balls, every now and then taking one in her hands to take a closer look. Jin can’t help but smile at the sight. It’s been ages since he last saw her and it’s been quite some time since he last saw her uncle as well.

Jin contemplates walking over and say “hi” to the girl but he doesn’t get that far before her uncle appears and kneels down next to her. So Kame’s the one bringing her here. They must be on their way somewhere because this store isn’t close to either her or Kame’s home. By the way Kame’s dressed Jin decides that they’re probably on their way to the beach or maybe a park. He’s in a simple white t-shirt, green shorts and his favourite and slightly worn out dark blue flip flops. If Jin remembers correctly Kame bought those shoes a few years back in down in Okinawa. His hair is pulled back in a messy pony tail and a pair of black sunglasses is hooked at the neckline of the shirt. He looks nothing like the idol he is on the days he has work.

The basket Kame put on the floor is filled with different kind of beverages, all non alcoholic as far as Jin can see. Kame and his niece are talking in a low tone but Jin can hear clearly what they are saying. She’s trying to make Kame buy her the pink bouncing ball she’s holding in her hand. It’s a pretty ball, some sparkles thrown into the pink colour. Kame agrees rather quickly and she jumps in joy over the tiny present. Kame chuckles and gets up from the floor with the basket in his hand. That’s when he sees Jin.
“Jin!” he says looking surprised but a happy kind of surprised.
“Kazuya” Jin smiles. ”Princess”
“Jin-jin!” the girl rushes over to Jin who takes her in his arms and lifts her up in the air. Kame walks closer with slow steps and a soft smile on his lips.
“I never thought I’d run into you here” Kame shifts the basket into his other hand. “Not that I mind, it’s been a while.”
“Yeah, where have you been Jin-kun?” the princess asks with an accusing glare. “You missed my birthday and Kazu-nii’s too!”
“I didn’t-“ Jin starts but a fake cough from Kame makes Jin change direction of his answer. It probably isn’t very smart to tell a little innocent girl that her uncle and he spent a whole evening in bed celebrating Kame’s birthday a few days in advance. “I was busy working. I’m so sorry. I did get you a birthday present though but it’s at home. I’ll make sure you’ll get it as soon as possible.”
“Promise?” the girl says looking gleeful.
“Promise” Jin repeats and holds out his right pinky and she is quick to hook her own tiny pink with his. She giggles.
“I actually have tomorrow afternoon off” he says and then looks over at Kame. “And the evening”
Kame smiles. “You should join the Kamenashi family afternoon full of fun then. There’ll be a lot of food and drinks and games”
“Yes!” the girl claps her hands on each side of Jin’s head and stare him right in the eyes. “You must come, and bring the present too.”
“I guess I will then” he smiles as they start walking towards the check out. “So where are you two heading now?”
“Just a daytrip to the beach” Kame answers and Jin is kind of ridiculously proud that he’d guessed right earlier. “But I forgot the drinks in the refrigerator. That’s why we’re here.”
“Wanna come with us?” the girl asks.
“I wish I could but I have work” Jin sighs. He really wishes he’d be able to come with them, especially since it seems to be another extremely hot day. The girl pouts at his answer.
“Aww, don’t be sad. You’ll see Jin tomorrow” Kame reaches out and strokes her hair softly. “Think about all the piggy backs and how you’re going to win against him in soccer”
“I’ve become really good at soccer” she smiles proudly.
“Yeah?” Jin smirks. “Well I guess we’ll have to play and see who the best is tomorrow” He’ll probably let her win if he doesn’t get too worked up and competitive that is.
“I’m gonna win!” she says as they reach the line and both Kame and Jin chuckles at her enthusiasm.

“Oh you’re bringing Ran-chan and Jelly too?” Jin says as the exit the shop and sees the two dogs tied to a post just outside.
“Yeah” Kame says untying them as they starts barking happily and swaying their tails. “It’d be heartless to leave them at home”
“Come here Jelly” the girl calls as Jin first now lets her down on the ground. The toy poodle runs over and starts licking her hands and face while she lets out high pitched giggles. Ran-chan goes over to greet Jin instead and he kneels down to pat and scratch her behind the ears.
“I hope you’ll have a great day” Jin says looking up at Kame. “But be careful so you don’t get sun burned, okay?”
Kame smiles “We will” he tries to manoeuvre the bags and the leashes so that he can get his sunglasses. It doesn’t go very well so Jin stands up and takes the glasses for him. Carefully he places them on the tip of Kame’s nose and then lets his hands brush over Kame’s cheeks affectionately for a second.
“There, perfect” He says and even if Kame’s eyes are now hidden behind black glass Jin can tell they’re sparkling with affection and happiness.
“Thanks” Kame fiddles with the bags in his hands. Jin doesn’t understand why Kame bought so much drinks but he guesses Kame has his reasons. He always has a good reason behind everything he does.
“Well I should get going” Jin says reluctantly because he really wishes he didn’t but work is calling. “See you tomorrow” he ruffles both Kame’s and the princess’ hair.
“Bye” the girl says and Kame just offers him a smile as Jin slowly backs away from them. When he turns around after a short while he hears how Kame says how they should get going and he looks over his shoulder to see Kame struggling with both carrying the two heavy bags and having a good hold of the girl and the dogs as they cross the street to get to his car. Jin smiles and then he realizes that he forgot to buy what he walked into to the store to get in the first place.

The end.
