The Hardy Boys
Rowan loves the Hardy Boys stories. We are reading them to him in order. We started with the new editions, but have found the editions published in the early 60s are much better. For one thing, Joe isn't an idiot. Plus, the writing is better and the vocabulary is more varied and challenging. My mother is buying the old editions for him as she finds them-or rather, as the owner of the used bookstore she goes to finds them for her. I'm excited to think that Rowan will be able to read these books for himself soon in the next year or two.
