Still unemployed

I send out resumes. I hear nothing. I send out more resumes. I hear more nothing. Oh well.

I have had a nice few days for my birthday. I was gifted with flowers and dinner and movie and books and dinner at a to be determined future date. I have also asked my parents to come over this weekend and help us put in some vegetable and herb gardens. We will have to use containers, but I think we can get some half barrels and do nicely. Tomatoes and cucumbers and eggplants and lettuces will all be fairly easy. I also want to plant some basil, thyme, oregano, and lavender. And, of course, some flowers. This is partly a gift for my son. He has been talking for weeks about wanting to plant vegetables this summer. We had tomatoes and cucumbers 2 years ago, but, now that he is 6, I think it will be fun to give him the responsibility for part of the upkeep and see how he does.

Rowan has grown so much! He is a very tall little boy-already a bit over 4 feet tall. He lost his first tooth last week. He decided he didn't want to give it to the tooth fairy because it was the first one-he's keeping it in a little glass jar I gave him. He is so sweet tempered. Although, he has been going through quite the sassy stage lately. When we picked him up from his dad's this last Sunday we were told that he had been rather sassy with them as well. I suggested the four adults should meet sometime soon without Rowan around so we could discuss various strategies for dealing with him. He is a sweet and loving child, but, he is also very strong-willed. I know that I sometimes just send him to his room so he can cry to his heart's content. That disturbs his father. But, honestly, being banished from human interaction actually calms the little monster down fairly quickly.
