Mardi Gras and Lunar New Year

Feb 04, 2008 20:16

I'm waiting for the King cake to cool so I can ice it and decorate it. I've got stock on the stove for the gumbo. I'm looking forward to Mardi Gras dinner tomorrow. The fact that I had celery, onion, and parsley leavings in the freezer to add to the shrimp peels and some chicken to make stock tonight makes me feel very domestic. And, Tim has been sewing today. I helped by cutting the fabric out. The least I can do since it's my Lunar New Year party outfit. Tim likes to use a rotary cutter while I prefer scissors. The fabric we're using is a brocade, so a little too heavy for the rotary cutter we have. This too is not costing us extra money, as it is fabric we bought and didn't use last year.
