Today's Awesomeness:

The brilliance of Jim Henson

Not too long ago during my trip to Atlanta did we go see the Jim Henson's Puppet Museum. It was pretty neat, and I got to see some of the original puppets. I saw Ernie, The Swedish Chef, Rolf, and tons of Fraggle Rock puppets. There was a little bit of "Labyrinth" and maybe one "Dark Crystal" puppet. If you are ever in Atlanta, I strongly suggest that museum.

Browsing through the museum, it dawned on me that this man, along with a couple of good friends, had a huge effect on my life. I grew up watching "Sesame Street" and watched "The Muppets" when I got too old for Sesame Street. What is inside Jim Henson's mind to create such dialogues, plot, and characters? The mis en scene of his movies never cease to fascinate me. How do you even come up with the concept of "The Dark Crystal"?

I watched some short videos of Jim Henson himself at the museum. I never got to see his real life personality or his persona. He came off to be the kind of a guy that you'd have a blast working with. He seems laid back, easy going and has the whole "I'm a mountain hippie" beard. You cannot tell me this dude was not a stoner.

Love you Jim. Rest in peace.

Today's True Story:

Big Bird is operated by one guy who has to suspend his arm up in the air for the beak to move.

Big Bird gives people the cramps. Yeah.
