Wow, that's quite a lot for a little kid to learn by heart! I bet Mrs. Patton knew Sam had a freakishly big brain and could manage it. I love the little breaks in the story to ask what something means (and who does know what frankincense is anyway? Ridiculous present for a baby, I agree!) and tell jokes (I would have loved the ass-hole joke when I was little if it had worked with my accent). Natterer is possibly the best mispronunciation ever.
