I intentionally wrote Relationships and not Romances, because frankly, I’m not a big fan of those. If I stumble over one I like, I will certainly put it here. But overall, this category is mostly for stories, whose main focus is to explore the relationships between characters, romantic and otherwise.
If Your Hopes Should Pass Away (Then Simply Pretend) by elrhiarhodan
http://elrhiarhodan.livejournal.com/137556.html It’s certainly no secret that I’m not a fan of Sara Ellis, considering how vocal I am about my issues with this character. Nevertheless, I took a chance on this story - and was blown away. This story displays the maturity which I missed about the portrayal of the Neal/Sara pairing on TV. Heartbreaking but an absolute must-read.
It’s Been A Bad Day, Please Don’t Take A Picture by TeeJay.
http://tj-teejay.livejournal.com/66408.html#cutid1 The beginning is simply about Neal having a bad day, but it resolves into so much more. Soon Neal’s feelings about Kate’s death are the main point. I love the transition at the end. I wish the show had provided us with something similar.
Con Dance by OnYourMark
http://archiveofourown.org/works/134755 A fairly long story about June’s relationships to Neal. (I always thought that June is more sneaky than people give her credit for).
Nothing Says “Feel Better Soon” Like Grand Theft Larceny by OnYourMark
http://archiveofourown.org/works/163988 Okay, I admit, the relationship is not really the main point here, although the story tells a lot about Mozzie’s and Neal’s relationship to Elizabeth and Peter. But until I find a couple more stories about the “Neal takes revenge on Peter’s (and Elizabeth’s) behalf” theme, I will leave it here.
