Canon-compliant stories about the pasts of the characters. Variants of Neal’s past have their own category (Neal’s origin (AU)), but everything which fits into canon goes here. Although so far, most stories are about Peter.
Compliments of the FBI by OnYourMark
http://archiveofourown.org/works/161661 The story of how Elizabeth and Peter meet. Elizabeth’s point of view on Peter is hilarious, but you can easily understand what she sees in him. This story is so canon, it’s like reading about an episode.
Horse Thieves and Mathematicians by sam-storyteller
http://sam-storyteller.dreamwidth.org/169079.html?#cutid1http://sam-storyteller.dreamwidth.org/169401.html?#cutid1 A young Peter is working at the horse track and meets Special Agent Reese Hughes. A very creative story about how their friendship started, with scenes from Peter’s career up to present time. I really, really hope that it doesn’t get jossed, I love the idea too much to accept a canon explanation in its place.
Good Dog, Good Man by Kit aka auctorial
http://auctorial.livejournal.com/51310.html A very realistic and funny story about how Satchmo became part of Peter’s live. Sooooo sweet, especially the ending. And I somehow have the feeling that the parallels to Peter and Neal’s relationship are intended … I knew there was a reason Neal and Satchmo hit it off straight away;-)
Sentimental by kriadydragon
http://kriadydragon.livejournal.com/206441.html#cutid1 Just a small reminder that Neal had a childhood, too. Short and sweet.
