"I hope I die before I get old"

Today for Spirit Week was Senior Citizen Day! Everyone had fun dressing up for this one. I felt really bad doing it, though, because I felt like I was mocking all the old people. >.<
Here's me and my brother, pretending to be 80:

My brother was going for the whole Gen. Douglas MacArthur thing, while I'm merely trying to keep them meddling kids off my garden!

Old people falling asleep easily. :P
For the spirit rally today...wow. ^^ Our class came in and pretended to be asleep, then when the announcer called out "Where are the Seniors?!", we all said things like "WHAT?!" "WHAT DID HE SAY, GLADYS?" heehee... Then the announcer said again "Where are the SENIORS?" we got up slowly, but surely and cheered: "Where's my applesauce, prunes, prunes, prunes! Ooh, ah, oh yeah, you with you were a Senior Citizen!" :P Pretty much, it rocked. Some people looked like they'll probably look like when they're old. It was fun to see, kindof. And then there were the people that just dressed up in one or two things. And, haha, I feel odd saying this, but some of them boys were looking quite attractive in those baby blue trousers, patterned blazers, and old man cabbie hats. :P Really. I wanted to hug them! But I refrained myself. If only they could at least wear one of the three with the rest being all modern...yes. I'm all for that. :P
Also, having the old person getup, it sparked some good conversations about what we'll be like when we're old and how we hope to die before we get old and stuff. A friend and I decided that we should just jump from a plane sans parachute when we're 75. Haha, because 60s aren't that old anymore. And I'm certainly going to be a cool old person. I'll probably be mid-reunion tour with either my band or my husband's band, but we'd head home to London a bunch. And oh, the stories I'll tell! It really is interesting to think of the next generation's concept of the world. I mean, we've only had rock music since the 50s. It came about during my grandparents' era! The next generation, though, will feel as if rock has always existed and that America has always been corrupt and that the only place wars happen is in the middle east. Oh, and ghetto...will be retro. Odd, no? Hmm...it also makes me with I could experience now as an old person. You know, that pioneer generation that paved the way of rock and roll and teenage identity through it... In some ways, too, I can't wait to be old.

I love looking out the window and seeing the screen stained with rain. Even better is when you can audibly hear the rain. It's like that right now. ^^ You ever notice that when you look somewhere, you see it in a color palette? Well the palette out my window is all rich greens, dark and wet browns, and the overarching grey of the sky. I love it.
