Went to our track's league meet today. It's the next step up from our league's championships. If you get in the top 10 slots in this meet, there's only one more meet until the State finals. So, it's a huge meet. I went for the 800 meter (half mile), my specialty. ^^ So, I had a good breakfast (pancakes, bacon, and lemonade. We went out to this really cool diner for breakfast.), then we drove all the way to the meet. It was about 45 mins away. Now, our school record is 2:28. It doesn' have a point whatever time after it, so we don't know if it's a 2:28 flat or what. So, I ran the race, and it felt pretty consistant. I had a first lap time of 72 seconds. For an even half and half time for a 2:28, you need a 75, so I was pretty much right on time. That was comforting. I pushed it hard all the way to the last corner, then I tried SO hard to sprint the end. I gave every last ounce of energy in the end, all the while feeling like my legs would collapse beneath me like limp noodles. I made it, and I heard the man with the stopwatch (not official time, just hand time) call out as I passed "2:28". That was exciting. ^^ There was actually a girl who finished behind me too! I was the slowest in my heat based on our previous times. So, that was exciting. I actually came in 23rd out of about 35 or 40 total girls. Not bad for such a high up meet. ^^ I went to see the paper with the computer times on it...I got a 2:28.74! ^^ That's a personal best for me, plus a tie/lose/win to the record. Confusing... Anyways, track's over and I have another year to full out break that record to pieces! ^^
I'm eating cheesecake from Black Angus and totally ignoring my homework. I have a Martin Luther King Jr. writing thing for History due Monday, as well as this 15 page paper... *sigh* Looks like I'll be working on it during the week. Well, I'm half writing the King project and half updating/f-listing. ^^ Shh, don't tell. When my parents come downstairs, I type like mad on my project. ;) Plus, it's nice to have Bobby on in the background. ^^ He's cool. Like...the ultimate cool. I listen to his Theme Time Radio on XM sometimes on the way to school. He's got the best radio talking voice! I really must see him in concert. It's sad. I need to see all my favorite groups before they die. >.< Pink Floyd, you really need to have another reunion tour! I'm still REAAAAAAALLY bitter about leaving for England the DAY Roger Waters comes to town. This is like my songwriting hero here! My mom's probably fed up with all my whining about this because I talk about it about every day. I mean, how ironic is this? He's British. I'm going to England while he comes to California. >.< Oh, the frustration! I'm trying to comfort myself by reminding myself that his voice isn't what it used to be. (You need more tea! And less smokes. I resolve to keep my voice nice all the way till I'm old!!) It's not working. I still wanna go. *wah*
Anyways, besides that, I'm planning to visit colleges over the summer break. Mainly just four or five music colleges in the general California area. Plus, I want to pick up the dulcimer and maybe take harp lessons over the summer. That'll look great on my application!! ^^ Hopefully I'll actually get those lessons and find a reasonably priced dulcimer. *crosses fingers*

EDIT: My mom just barged in the room and turned on the TV. I said "What'cha gunna watch?" She says "No, it's what you're gunna watch". Confused, I just watched her change the channel. There was Pete Townshend ON MY TV! I jumped out of my chair and now I'm watching what looks like a live Who concert from the '80s. ^^ YAY! Last time this happened, Heart was playing "Crazy On You" live on TV. I must say I like this better. <3333 Tommy and Quadrophrenia LIVE!
