Thanksgiving 07

Mmyay, so I had some fun this holiday weekend.

Wednesday after work Meghan came by with her li'l family: Brendon, Katelyn, and Benjamin. Hmm, their names all end in the letter N. What gives?

I got to play with the baby again, and he is quite big! What a cutie sweetie. Yum yum, I could eat him.

Katelyn was engrossed in a movie most of the afternoon, and for a short time Mikey visited and chilled. Later we went out for pizza, but the baby made it clear that he did not want to stay there without getting to eat too, so we got our order to go and went back to my place. Later that evening Katelyn and I made oatmeal cookies. I saved a batch for my mommy because she loves oatmeal cookies.

Thursday I went to my mom's. I let her borrow my steam cleaner. We munched a little on coffeecake and cookies, and some veggies and dip my sister had whipped up. Sister L put on the movie Elf because she was borderline appalled that I hadn't seen it. ::giggle:: I watched it sorta halfway between talking to my mom and drawing Negative One. They started a fire which was really, really nice, and they toasted marshmallows.

I spent the afternoon/early evening drawing and chatting with the mama, and then she took me home. I didn't eat with them. I chatted with Victor on the phone early in the morning like I usually do (as in, 3 AM on Friday), and I drew the rest of the comic and made biscuits.

In the late morning I posted the comic, and soon enough my friends came by again. This time no Katelyn, but Meggie and Brendon and Ben and I hung out. We made an apple pie from scratch, and when that was done we started on seitan stew, working on potatoes together. I took over the preparation of that dish while Meggie made green bean casserole (yum!!!), and between that stuff and some corn, my homemade pumpkin muffins, my homemade biscuits, the cookies, some stuffing she brought for her and Brendon, and the pie, we had ourselves stuffed. Brendon had plugged in some Dr. Who DVDs, which I got a little tiny taste of, and also Steve visited us before going to work. It was fun (except for the fact that I was frustrated over not having a new Eyeshield manga to coo over yet).

The pictures I took almost entirely involve Benjamin, so I just put them on his page. Ben finally has enough pictures that I separated his photo page into two: The Newborn Photo Album and The Babyhood Photo Album (which should last until he's 12 months old, like Katelyn's).

Some favorites (click the thumbs for larger pics):

You can see the whole clump of pictures if you just go to Benjamin's babyhood album and look for the Thanksgiving section. :)

I spent most of Saturday sleeping. I got up for my manga fix and went back to sleep for another like seven hours, finally getting up and playing tennis with Mikey. We were doing really well, tied 3 games to 3, and I pulled ahead in the seventh game and thought I was going to win it but we had to call it off because Mikey got injured. (I think he was trying to knock the fence down with his chest! He has a grudge against it!)

I played DDR after tennis, chatted to friends online, and did some work on a friend's Top 30 Fictional Characters submission, which was almost done on Friday when the guesties got in, and I did a few clean-up things and ended up snoozing. I got up early on Sunday, and went grocery shopping and stuff with Mikey, and later I chatted to Victor on the phone again--we're planning a visit (!!!ten years since I've seen him!!!) and there were some other issues--so we spent the morning chatting while I finally got around to washing the second batch of dishes that I'd left sitting from Friday night, did laundry, processed photos and Ben's new pages, posted all my comic comments, and messed around with some Christmas gift ordering. Whee!

I wound Sunday up by doing some editing and working on another Christmas present, talking to my friend Robin, and paging through some gift catalogs and making decisions about what to buy people for holiday gifts. Chanukkah is early this year. Meh.

That's all for my holiday post. :)
