Six Years Later

For six years a lot happened: Doojoon and Junhyung graduated; then Yoseob and Gi Kwang graduated. Doojoon and Yoseob started living together after Yoseob’s graduation and Junhyung lived in the apartment building across from them; Gi Kwang lived two blocks away. Yoseob worked together with Gi Kwang at a nursery and Junhyung worked together with Doojoon in an office; according to Yoseob Junhyung had a nice and beautiful boyfriend named Hyunseung, though truth was that they were only friends who screwed around from time to time. And the most important thing that occurred for the last few months was that Doojoon and Yoseob fought - a lot.

They always quarreled about something; be it simple or big. The quarrel could arise from Yoseob not buying eggs to “why the fuck is Gi Kwang calling you in the middle of the night?” or from Doojoon not washing the dishes to “why aren’t you bringing me along when you go to the cinema with Junhyung?” (somehow he and Junhyung became friends too, though their friendship was complicated). Such trivial things. Or maybe they weren’t so trivial but Doojoon believed that both of them were in the kind of stage when they’re so used to living with each other that they don’t notice how much time they spend together and are jealous over each-other’s friends or in their case - Junhyung and Gi Kwang.

And of course today, of all the days, they had to fight again for the sole reason of both of them forgetting their anniversary. Yoseob blamed Doojoon, because the younger was bad with dates and he needed reminder. Doojoon blamed Yoseob, because he had so much work he barely slept the last few days and the dates were blending for him, so the younger had to remember and do something if he insisted so much on a special evening.

In the end this led to Yoseob going to Gi Kwang’s apartment and Doojoon getting frustrated and heading to Junhyung with a bag of beer on a rainy night, a little past 9PM.

“What are you doing here?” the demon asked as soon as he opened the door and came face to face with Doojoon and a bag full with cans of beer that the taller one was carrying.

“Paying a visit?” Doojoon answered getting in and closing the door behind. He then looked at Junhyung, who had headed to the living room, and he couldn’t avoid the aura surrounding the demon. Something was just not right. “Hey, are you sick or something?” Doojoon asked as he entered the room where Junhyung was and saw him seated on the couch with white T-shirt on and black sweat pants, legs on the furniture and bended in the knees, as to make room for one more person to sit, and eyes casted out the window, a hand supporting the being’s head. The lights were off and Doojoon noticed that the only light in the room came from the TV, which sound was turned off, and the street lamps, whose light sneaked in trough the windows.

Something was definitely off.

“Why are you here on your anniversary?” the demon asked back leisurely and turned to Doojoon with the most bored and tired expression on. This was something that Doojoon saw for the first time and he was a little taken aback. He walked to the couch carefully and put the bag on the floor before sitting next to Junhyung, wondering as to why isn’t the demon making some nasty remarks at Doojoon’s sudden visit.

“I had a fight with Yoseob and he went to Gi Kwang…” Junhyung sighed at that, making Doojoon start to feel a little worried.

“You should stop being jealous over that boy. Even if Yoseob has some feeling towards him, he will stay your boyfriend until our contract is over or until you don’t break up with him.” The demon closed his eyes, resting his head on the back of the furniture and let his hands fall on his lap. Doojoon shifted in a way so he was facing his friend and leaned a little forward, putting his hand on Junhyung’s forehead.

“Can you catch a cold?” the human asked when Junhyung opened his eyes from the touch and raised an eyebrows at the man before him. “Or some other illness?”

“No, but I can be moody too.” He answered, kicking Doojoon’s thigh. “Leave me alone.”

“Did something happen with Hyunseung?” Doojoon pressed in and Junhyung again tried to kick the man’s thigh to shut him up, though this time Doojoon grabbed the leg and pulled him closer to himself. “Didn’t we establish this crazy friendship over the years? Talk to me or I’ll worry.” Doojoon didn’t notice he was barely whispering until his voice nearly cracked at the end. He figured it was because of the tranquil feeling in the room.

“I’m always like this on this day, Doojoon.” Junhyung answered fixing again his vision out the window.

“How come I haven’t noticed?” the man pressed in. Something was bothering him; something in the demon’s eyes irked him; a feeling he never saw in them.

“Because it’s your anniversary and you’re always out with Yoseob.”

“Don’t tell me you’re jealous?” Doojoon tried joking to light up the atmosphere but Junhyung looked at him with void eyes and Doojoon immediately shut up, looking at the feet he pulled on his lap.

“I was once a human too.” Junhyung whispered silently, though Doojoon heard it and he froze. He thought that if he moved Junhyung would stop talking. “I made a deal like you, 500 years ago or something, to marry this beautiful girl because she was not in our social class and my parents opposed. We had two kids - a daughter and a son. Our daughter was picked to be a candidate for becoming the crown princess, but some people were against it, since her mother was from the lower class. So six years prior to my contract my whole family, excluding me and my father, were killed.” Junhyung smirked, though Doojoon could see the pain in the man’s eyes. “It was on this day.”

“I’m sorry.” The man mumbled, playing with the fabric of Junhyung’s sweats.

“Don’t be. It was my fault.” Junhyung bended and grabbed a can of beer, popping it open and taking a big gulp. “I should stop sulking; you came so I can cheer you up, right?” the playful glint in Junhyung’s eyes returned as he cradled the male, though Doojoon could still see the sorrow behind it, but he figured that the demon wanted to just let it slip, to forget and ignore it for now. That’s why he shared it too - to let it out, before it consumed his mind for the rest of the night. That much Doojoon knew about Junhyung.

“Who should cheer up whom?” Doojoon laughed, bending down to grab a can too and rested his free hand on Junhyung’s thigh to secure the body on his lap. He got the can near his lips, but before he took a sip he looked at Junhyung, who raised his brow at the male; something the human noticed the demon did a lot when he drifted his attention to him like this. “Can Yoseob still cheat on me?” Junhyung said nothing; he just drowned his beer and put the can on the tea table behind, not looking Doojoon in the eyes. At that the human drowned his own can in one go and threw it somewhere before he shifted their positions so he was on top of Junhyung, whose back was pressed onto the couch.

“What are you doing?” the demon asked confused while he supported his upper body on his elbows. Doojoon said nothing. He just leaned forward, tracing his lips through the other’s neck. “Yah, Doojoon.”

“All those years you tried to get me in bed, now you’re gonna push me away?” the human asked disbelieving, lips close to Junhyung’s ear shell. But truthfully he had no idea what he was doing. He couldn’t blame the beer because both of them knew that Doojoon needed way more than a can to cloud his mind and for some reason he really wanted to do this. He had the thought once or twice (maybe more) during these six years they have been together, but for some reason the need to hold the slimmer being today was stronger than all the times before.

“Don’t get me wrong, but the last thing I want is to get you in bed when you’re a wreck and just searching revenge based on unwarranted charge. It hurts my pride.” Doojoon looked at Junhyung’s eyes and saw the anger the demon felt right now, and all he could do was laugh.

“I’m not a wreck, you ass.” He chuckled and leaned down to plant a kiss on the demon’s heart-shaped lips. Their second kiss. For a moment Doojoon felt nostalgic and he wondered how he forgot the sweet taste of these lips; was it because he was too shocked six years ago? “And it’s not an unwarranted charge… not entirely.” Junhyung raised again an eyebrow at him, but instead of pushing the human away he threaded their fingers together and leaned forward, lips barely touching.

“Do share.” He breathed out, eyes getting darker.

“I’ve been suspicion about it for awhile.” Doojoon whispered eyes focused on the other’s lips as he spoke. “But I can’t voice it; I can’t lose him; I don’t want to know.” Doojoon’s lips traveled down Junhyung’s neck and he stopped at the demon’s collarbone, biting lightly at the flesh as his hands traveled under the being’s shirt, fingers ghosting along Junhyung’s sides.

“And what are you going to do?” the demon asked grunting.

“I won’t blame him if I do the same, right?”

“And if he finds out?” by this point both male’s shirts were thrown on the floor.

“You won’t tell him.” Doojoon smirked while planting kisses down Junhyung’s stomach and hearing the other’s ragged breathing. He was going to hell anyway.

“You bet I’m not.” Junhyung grunted, pulling Doojoon up and connection their lips in a passionate, needy kiss.

Doojoon was standing next to the window, elbow rested on the window sill and jeans hanging loose on his hips, watching the wet street and the lights that reflected on its watery surface. His fingers were entangled in his black hair as he was drowning in the stillness of the night.

“Go home, Doojoon. Yoseob may go back soon too.” Junhyung’s murmur came, cutting through Doojoon’s thoughts. The human turned around and walked to the couch, finding Junhyung still lying on his stomach and hands under one of the pillows, a blanket covering him to his waist. He leaned on the back of the furniture and slid his fingers gently along the demon’s back, making him hum softly.

“You look like a cat.” He giggled and Junhyung turned around sending him a lazy glare. “Can I take you home?” the human asked bending lower and kissing the half-sleepy being.

“I doubt Yoseob will be thrilled at it.” Junhyung answered, following as the man travelled around the couch and sat next to him. Doojoon rested his upper body on one hand, positioned opposite to the side of Junhyung that Doojoon was seated, and combed the demon’s hair with his other hand. “Go home.” Doojoon sighed and stood up at the command, getting his shirt and putting it on. He stood there for a minute, waiting for nothing and not saying anything before he headed to the front door.

He put his shoes on slowly, got his jacket on and just when his hand was on the handle to open the door another one was place on his. Doojoon turned around surprised and found Junhyung with the blanket wrapped around him and his head low. “Go back to him. Carry out your part of the contract.” The demon said voice even and calm, not too high and not too low. “But… I’ll be here if you want. Keeping quiet.”

“I know.” Doojoon whispered leaning down and capturing the demon’s lips in a tender kiss before getting out of the apartment and heading to his own bed across the street.

Doojoon loved Yoseob. He really did, but somewhere in his heart he felt really doubtful about it. Did Yoseob really love him? Was Doojoon really making him happy? Did he make the right choice in forcing Yoseob in their relationship? Or were all his doubts because of today? He wasn’t quite sure, but he knew one thing - he had a contract to carry out.

I'm half way trough the next final part and I think I'm making each part longer and longer XD I don't know why. Anyway I hope I wrote this in the right way, because when I started the story I had only the 'deal' scene in mind the 'waking up' one and this whole chapter
(I did correct a few things from the first idea here, but as a whole it's this), but if I messed somewhere be free to point it out to me.
I'll update the last part probably by the end of the next week (the week from 9th to 16th) so be a little patient with it ;p
I hope you enjoyed~ ^_^
