great story, liked it very much.
i don't like casey at all, so i enjoyed the fact that olivia was cleaning herself so thoroughly afterwards. it was humiliating for casey ::evil snicker::
but seriously, good job. her longing for alex comes across beautifully.

I like Casey, and I'm not afraid to admit it! I love her, mostly precisely because she is never quite right, and it's exasperating and endearing all at once. And because of the sassy coat with the white piping. And the boots, but aeonian already *said* that. And because Olivia asked her if she wanted to go out for drinks. But just because I love her doesn't mean I don't love to see her being tortured, and you have indeed done that so sweetly. I adore this Olivia, who is so broken. What is magical about this is its economy, the way tiny shards of things (mouthwash, whiskey, the elastic of Casey's panties, the barest shadow of Alex) refract and pulse with the depth of everything left unsaid (or unsayable

oh. see, i never know how to respond to such things, just that this made me smile (& possibly blush, though no one was around to confirm this). (so thank you, yes, & glad you enjoyed. and all those trite insta-responses.)

i've tried to respond to this a few times, and i never get passed the stuttering "umm, thank you" phase. so i finally gave up entirely on the idea of intelligent discourse and will sit here and babble incoherently. (& as for Casey? this story made me go back and reexamine her as someone separate from "that chick who replaced my Alex," and so i find myself hating her far less and admiring her boots far more. or something.)

though, really, "moody, atmospheric" and the rest is quite possibly the bit that made me happiest of all. yes.

Your unverifiable blushing is perfectly adorable. But really, you deserve it! I was in such bliss at your site. You are the only one, I think, doing Olivia Janeway Scully CJ AND Aeryn (my harem). So I gotta give you especial props. In addition to this one, I particularly rec-ed "all this is window dressing," "and another angel earns his wings," and "what's left is magic."

You, know, though, if you *really* want to thank me you could write an Aeryn/Zhaan story. That seems like the sort of thing that you would do, all angsty with Zhaan dying for her and the guilt. sabine101 promised me she would years ago, but never did. And I'm trying to buy them in fan_the_vote, but doubt anybody would do it as well as you. Anyway, it can't hurt to ask.
