Man alive. Casey/Olivia is so not my thing but this was fantastic. I love that you have Olivia punishing herself with Casey. So many fantastic images.

The tasting stuff is just... augh. Brilliant.

Love this:

Falling into bed together was easy, is always easy, but waking up together is more complicated. Talking to one another. A few drinks and too much stress, and Olivia will drag Casey into the women's restroom every time. A few too many whiskies, and she'll follow Casey home. But she's still no good at mornings, and she's still afraid of the sobriety of sunlight.

I hope you write more SVU fic because this is seriously good.

oh, thank you. (yeah, casey/olivia is not exactly my thing, either, which is perhaps why it came out more as a punishment than a romance.) but, yes, i'm oh so glad you liked this.

whether or not i write more SVU fic, though, is completely dependent on the muse. and she's being a bit tight-lipped about it all at the moment.

She closes her eyes and reads Casey's skin like braille.

Yeah man. Hands-down sexiest line. And then...

She keeps doing this. She punishes herself by doing this.

Ouch.

I love the tastes and the mouthwash and the Casey watching Style Network. Good stuff.

thank you. it's entirely possible i have an unhealthy obsession preoccupation with mouthwash and cinnamon toothpaste, but, still, i'm glad you enjoyed.

Ooooh... I would equate this story with a nice glass of merlot accompanied by a cigarette - or possibly a cigar.

And I was desperately in need of a drink.

The reveal of Casey at the door was an especially poignant moment - easy to imagine in cinematic surround sound and all. I love it for that moment.

Thank you once again. I owe you my first born...

...so how many of these alleged first born of yours have you pawned off on unsuspecting ficwriters? me, i'd rather a nice bottle of wine.

that said, glad you enjoyed (and that casey in the door moment is the one bit i was completely happy with, so, yes). and thank you.

It's symbolic. I should give you all little dolls labeled "first born."

ok, i'm commenting again, cos while i wrote my previous comment, my dog distracted me. here goes:
great story, liked it very much.
i don't like casey at all, so i enjoyed the fact that olivia was cleaning herself so thoroughly afterwards. it was humiliating for casey ::evil snicker::
but seriously, good job. her longing for alex comes across beautifully.

oh, glad you liked. (also: i suck at responding to feedback. because i never know what to say.) but, yes, glad you liked (even though no one, it seems, likes casey).

I like Casey, and I'm not afraid to admit it! I love her, mostly precisely because she is never quite right, and it's exasperating and endearing all at once. And because of the sassy coat with the white piping. And the boots, but aeonian already *said* that. And because Olivia asked her if she wanted to go out for drinks. But just because I love her doesn't mean I don't love to see her being tortured, and you have indeed done that so sweetly. I adore this Olivia, who is so broken. What is magical about this is its economy, the way tiny shards of things (mouthwash, whiskey, the elastic of Casey's panties, the barest shadow of Alex) refract and pulse with the depth of everything left unsaid (or unsayable ( ... )

Thank you for this. I was a bit hesitant about requesting Casey/Liv cause I don't think I could've handled happy!romantic!fic. But this is anything but happy or romantic and I love it and you for that.

I love how Liv punishes herself both for and by doing it. I love the mouthwash and the tooth paste and the trying to get clean.

I also love that you used Ryan Adams lyrics.

oh, well, then you picked the right girl cause i don't think i could DO happy!romantic!casey/olivia if held at gunpoint. then again, i don't really do happy!romantic!fic much anyway, so there's also that.

anyway, i'm glad you liked this. i was a bit wary, myself, of writing this pairing, but my muse just refused to cooperate with me and now i'm rather glad i pushed myself.

so, yes, thanks.
