10.15 'Fortune' review!

Feb 25, 2011 22:44

It's Friday and it's Smallville day! The trailers made this episode seem like pure crack and there were parts that seemed hilarious but I couldn't help but worry anyway. The last time I felt this way was probably 'Hex' and that ended up being a success. I actually wanted to be spoiled for this one but I was getting my hair cut when it was airing ( Read more... )

I'm pretty much in agreement with everything you said, right down to wondering what happened to the poor lemur? I mean is he still in the closet, the poor little guy? LOL ( ... )

I hope not! It's a bit of a shame we didn't see him at the end. Though Shelby may have been threatened so they had to sneak him out, lol.

All of the guys made adorable drunks. Seriously had me giggling, but my favorite was hands down Clark. He was just so completey adorable.
Clark's definitely my favorite drunk too. He's just precious.

I love that he burned the symbol on the wall because Lois was cold and later in the bathroom, when Emil comes in he gives this goofy grin to the camera that's just so adorable and cute. I really want an icon of it. XD
Agreeing with all of that! I love how earnestly he told the camera that Lois was the love of his life. And yes, the grin in the bathroom was so great. I want an icon too. :D

Seriously, I know it won't fit in, but I kind of want to see more of drunk Clark. Tom Welling did too good of a job at it. XDLOL You and me both! It's a shame they didn't realize how awesome this ( ... )

LOL, poor Shelby. I could only imagine her reaction if she had some how run into the lemur. I think it would have been rather funny. XD

Oh, I loved that part too! He was just so adorable. It is most defenitely a shame that the writer's didn't do this before, I would have loved to see more of it.

See I didn't even think about the tux part until they were showing the video of the night and Ollie ran up hiding from Chloe, and then I started getting all excited because I realized where they were going with it. My sister on the other hand was like "Yeah, didn't know that was where it was going?" And I was like "NO! Why didn't you say anything before?" LOL.

I think Emil is the first guy I've shipped Tess with. When I heard about them, I was like "???" but they really work! And yes, their reactions were hilarious.LOL, that was pretty much my reaction too. I was ( ... )

It would definitely be funny. Shelby'd be so confused. Speaking of which, I miss that dog. It's a shame we don't see her (him? Clark and Lois seem to refer to poor Shelby by different genders) more often.

I think the closest we got to Clark cutting loose was back in s4, 'Spell', right? When he was dancing at the party? That was funny. Tom was so adorable.

I always believed that Chloe and Ollie were the ones who intended to get married, but when I only saw half the certificate and then Ollie woke up, wearing a different outfit, I probably would've put the pieces together. Like I said, I spoiled myself because this was one of the episodes that could've gone really ( ... )

Good review (am over here from the Ledger). I loved this episode. I thought it was going to be lame with Clark and Chloe getting married but it turned out that wasn't what happened and it was just a fun fest. I think it was a lovely way for the cast to say goodbye as there won't be anymore episodes like that and it's something Smallville has been missing for years. Sometimes it's nice to see the characters do normal things as friends - well normal for them.

Were Clark and Oliver just talking about rings in the bathroom? That was funny but strange. A lot of it seemed like the cast just mucking about like in Lois and Clark: TNAOS when Clark ate a whole vat of smarties when he and Lois were drugged.

What was wrong with the barn scene? I thought it was sweet except for Chloe saying she was inspiring heroes - I don't like her taking all the credit. They seem to forget the bad things she did.

Oh and Emil had a wife - was nice to see some personal things about him coming up.

Thanks! :)

I strongly felt that the trailer would be misleading but I'm glad (and relieved) that I was right. It just would've felt like unnecessary pandering otherwise. But yeah, it was a fun episode for sure. I liked seeing the characters cut loose.

True. I especially loved that scene when they were watching the video. They felt like a real family in that moment.

It was OK.... though I was HOPING Oliver and Chloe would both stay in the show till the end and then go off to wherever together into the sunset, sort of like Lois & Clark and their adventures :)

I just... thought it was out of place... though the whole Chloe married to Oliver = AWESOME!

But her deciding after like 1 episode she JUST said she wasn't going to go anywhere, up and decides, hey, I'm leaving, yeah. THAT's a little OFF.

Plus, the Lois and Clark moments? Scared me! To me, it made it seem like they were just a bit closer to giving Lois a reason to leave Clark at the altar or at least, have her the night or day before come to him and say "I can't" or at least "Not right now" ... which, after 10 years of Smallville, I don't want "Yes, they will get married, years in the future when you can't see it" I want it ON THE SHOW before it ENDS!

However, Oliver in drag? I haven't laughed so hard in so long!

Well, Chloe was only going to be there for five episodes so that wasn't possible. But Ollie will be back. That's why that she had to go again. Not for character reasons, but Allison Mack only agreed to return for a few episodes. We don't know yet whether she'll be in the finale.

Agree on Lois and Clark. I think Lois's fears were legitimate and it's good to get into her head but I like to believe that Clark managed to calm her down. IDK whether we'll see the wedding because the producers haven't said either way but I hope we do.

However, Oliver in drag? I haven't laughed so hard in so long!
That was priceless. They so don't pay Justin Hartley enough, lol.

My fanon is that Tess gave the lemur to Alexander-Conner. It will be his squishy.

Yes, it definitely was like a crackfic but it was entertaining.

everyone looked so amazing, and it was nice to have a bit of carefree plotless hijinks for one ep!
Definitely. It's good to see the characters cut loose.

i hope ollie isn't gone! hopefully he will still be around but simply be on visiting terms with chloe. if he is gone until the finale or something, i will not be a happy smallfan!
Ollie will still be around. I think he should be in the finale. Only Chloe's gone.

it was nice to see tess being...?human? this ep...even before and after the zatanna champagne weirdness
emil? that was random but lulz!
Both Tess and Emil are the show's most serious characters so I liked seeing them get wild and crazy. I love Tess so I'm glad to see that she has found a place where she belongs.

Lois and her costumes are always amusing. Ollie in the showgirl costume was funny for me, though I don't get how anyone would mistake him for a girl. JH may be slender but he's too muscular for that.

all in all a good ep, probs the most ( ... )
