10.15 'Fortune' review!

Feb 25, 2011 22:44

It's Friday and it's Smallville day! The trailers made this episode seem like pure crack and there were parts that seemed hilarious but I couldn't help but worry anyway. The last time I felt this way was probably 'Hex' and that ended up being a success. I actually wanted to be spoiled for this one but I was getting my hair cut when it was airing ( Read more... )

right down to wondering what happened to the poor lemur? I mean is he still in the closet, the poor little guy? LOL.
I hope not! It's a bit of a shame we didn't see him at the end. Though Shelby may have been threatened so they had to sneak him out, lol.

All of the guys made adorable drunks. Seriously had me giggling, but my favorite was hands down Clark. He was just so completey adorable.
Clark's definitely my favorite drunk too. He's just precious.

I love that he burned the symbol on the wall because Lois was cold and later in the bathroom, when Emil comes in he gives this goofy grin to the camera that's just so adorable and cute. I really want an icon of it. XD
Agreeing with all of that! I love how earnestly he told the camera that Lois was the love of his life. And yes, the grin in the bathroom was so great. I want an icon too. :D

Seriously, I know it won't fit in, but I kind of want to see more of drunk Clark. Tom Welling did too good of a job at it. XD
LOL You and me both! It's a shame they didn't realize how awesome this concept was earlier.

Chloe and Oliver made me sooo happy in this one. I was like you and pretty much knew they really wouldn't have Chlark get married, and I was hoping it would end up a Chlollie wedding, but at the end I was still surprised by it.
Someone on Twitter suggested that they thought Chloe and Oliver would be the ones who intended to get married, Chloe & Clark think they get married and Tess & Emil actually get married, since there were spoilers about there being an "OMG moment" between them. But I like how it worked out. Even if I hadn't spoiled myself, I knew from the second Ollie woke up in that ridiculous suit that he was the one who also got married.

I am so with you on Tess and Emil, I did not expect to like them but I'm totally shipping them wth you. I loved their reactions to the video too.
I think Emil is the first guy I've shipped Tess with. When I heard about them, I was like "???" but they really work! And yes, their reactions were hilarious.

Actually I loved everyone's reactions in general. But when it got to them in her office, I loved that Ollie was just in the background cracking up. Made me giggle even more.
Someone GIF'd Lois's reaction and honestly? She looked really into the Tess/Emil. It was funny. And I too loved Ollie in the background laughing.

I agree with you on the lack of buildup for Chloe returning to journalism, overall I'm happy with her arc but I thought more buildup would have been good for it. But overall I'm really happy with her ending. As such a big Chloe fan I was really worried I wouldn't be, but I was.
I felt they kind of implied it in 'Masquerade' but I think they could've built it up more for sure. They took so much pains to say that journalism wasn't her calling anymore that it takes more than just that one conversation with Ollie, at least for me, to realistically get her back there. But I can't complain too much. She definitely got good closure, much better than the Lana arc anyway. Though I'm sad we didn't get a Chlo-Lo goodbye.

I do wonder about the omega and Ollie too. I knew he wasn't going to be back for a few eps, but I didn't really think about it, but it does make me curious about what it'll mean for his return.
Same here. I don't know when he's coming back. I guess we'll just have to see. I hope he'll be okay though.

LOL, poor Shelby. I could only imagine her reaction if she had some how run into the lemur. I think it would have been rather funny. XD

Oh, I loved that part too! He was just so adorable. It is most defenitely a shame that the writer's didn't do this before, I would have loved to see more of it.

See I didn't even think about the tux part until they were showing the video of the night and Ollie ran up hiding from Chloe, and then I started getting all excited because I realized where they were going with it. My sister on the other hand was like "Yeah, didn't know that was where it was going?" And I was like "NO! Why didn't you say anything before?" LOL.

I think Emil is the first guy I've shipped Tess with. When I heard about them, I was like "???" but they really work! And yes, their reactions were hilarious.

LOL, that was pretty much my reaction too. I was like, that won't work, pretty much for the reason that I find it so hard to see her with someone other than a female character. I think she looks pretty with a lot of them, but I can't actually ship them. But somehow they made it work. XD

Someone GIF'd Lois's reaction and honestly? She looked really into the Tess/Emil. It was funny. And I too loved Ollie in the background laughing.

That totally made me giggle. Lois is a fan of it too, I can see it. XD

Yeah, I defenitely felt like it was implied in Masquerade, but I would have liked more focus on it. Even just sprinklings of it through the different episodes. In Beacon they had her back at the Planet with Lois for a few of her scenes they could have sneaked something small in there. But yes, I'm not going to complain much either, because I'm happy with where she ended up, back to journalism, still working with the league, married to Ollie, and not dead like I've feared from the beginning she would end the series as. XD I was sad we didn't get a Chlo-Lo goodbye too. Even just a little one would have made me happy.

It would definitely be funny. Shelby'd be so confused. Speaking of which, I miss that dog. It's a shame we don't see her (him? Clark and Lois seem to refer to poor Shelby by different genders) more often.

It is most defenitely a shame that the writer's didn't do this before, I would have loved to see more of it.
I think the closest we got to Clark cutting loose was back in s4, 'Spell', right? When he was dancing at the party? That was funny. Tom was so adorable.

See I didn't even think about the tux part until they were showing the video of the night and Ollie ran up hiding from Chloe, and then I started getting all excited because I realized where they were going with it.
LOL Yeah, that's when it became pretty obvious. I always believed that Chloe and Ollie were the ones who intended to get married, but when I only saw half the certificate and then Ollie woke up, wearing a different outfit, I probably would've put the pieces together. Like I said, I spoiled myself because this was one of the episodes that could've gone really bad or really well. I needed to be mentally prepared. I wonder why and how the wedding certificate got torn up. Or how Chloe ended up in the closet. NGL, there were a lot of unanswered questions.

My sister on the other hand was like "Yeah, didn't know that was where it was going?" And I was like "NO! Why didn't you say anything before?" LOL.
LOL Poor Chloe though. She doesn't have any luck with weddings. Oh well. At least she got Ollie. ;D

I think she looks pretty with a lot of them, but I can't actually ship them. But somehow they made it work. XD
Exactly. There's just something missing with the other men in the show. Zod and Tess were sorta interesting, mostly because of the dynamic but I couldn't totally get into that ship either.

That totally made me giggle. Lois is a fan of it too, I can see it. XD
I have visual proof! I found the GIF:

Clark is looking all embarrassed and Lois is really considering this new turn of events. XD

Chloe was definitely one of the characters that I've been wondering if they'd just kill off for years. Fortunately they didn't go down the route, because it would've been cheap and unfair to her fans.

I was sad we didn't get a Chlo-Lo goodbye too. Even just a little one would have made me happy.
Did you hear the news? Allison will be back in the finale. So hopefully we have a shot for a final Chlo-Lo scene there. :)

Btw, I love your icon! So brilliant. I was rewatching the video scenes and right before Clark tries to get Emil to drink, Ollie asks Clark if he's really made of steel. I never noticed that before and it just made me LOL.
