The State of Fannish Suz
Real Life is a clusterfuck at the moment, so - fandom! Some of you may know what I've been up to fandom-wise, some of you may have no idea. For anyone who may give a crap - and to help me keep track of stuff that's not on DW - I'll go into detail with links behind the cut.
For me, 2010/2011 was when I really 'left' LJ. I'd still make the occasional post but my heart wasn't in it anymore. I think that had a lot to do with how the Luke/Reid storyline ended (no, really) and Mom getting diagnosed with cancer (she's okay now. Well, she doesn't have cancer now).
Luke/Reid fandom was, understandably, getting quieter and quieter and I had a brief fling with the Lewis fandom (Hathawaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, omg what an interesting character). Teen Wolf is what it really came to for me, though, mostly due to the acting chops of one Dylan O'Brien. I'm still following his career with interest and hoping it produces something actually worthwhile sometime soon ;) I made one Sterek vid, one Stiles vid, and wrote a few fics - even a WIP that's never been finished in my grand tradition of screwing myself over.
Then I...wrote nothing. For a long time.
And then, a little over a year ago, I wrote a 20k Sterek fic seemingly out of nowhere. I still don't know why that happened, but I'm happy it did because I had so much fun writing it.
I quit my job, for personal and professional reasons, found an old half-written Luke/Reid X-Men fic (really) and decided to try and finish it. Since then? I've been a fandom machine.
I made two Luke/Reid vids. I've been writing a crazy amount - well over 200,000 words since the end of August. I easily completed NanoWrimo without even taking part. I used to write every day, back in the Star Trek: Voyager days, but they were 90% silly little one-shots. Everything I write now is anywhere between 20k and 50k. Hell, there's another 50k Luke/Reid fic sitting on my harddrive not doing anything because a) it's not finished and b) I'm not happy with it. But it's still been written! I'm 14k words into another Luke/Reid fic right now and in the process of posting another one I've finished on AO3.
I don't know what the hell's going on, but I like it.
The only downside, really, is that it's Luke/Reid and we're a tiny fandom now :( There's not really anyone to talk about it, although - fantastically - people have been coming out of the woodwork on AO3 and even a couple on LJ. Thank you <3

That Sterek fic I randomly wrote a year ago :D Stiles is a Private Investigator, only not really. He's also magical, but only close up. One thing he's really good at is lusting over people from afar, which is why it's a problem when Laura Hale hires him to help her brother.
Trashy Gay Romance: Happy Ending
A Luke/Reid and X-Men: First Class crossover fic. No, really! Reid expects his visit to Xavier's School For The Gifted to be an enormous waste of time. He turns up anyway.
How Reid Learned To Love Being A Werewolf
Surprisingly not a Teen Wolf crossover ;) "You're a werewolf, not Spider-Man."
A One Night Thing
Luke and Reid meet quite differently. It was only natural, Reid told himself. He'd helped an attractive young man through a rite of passage - his first one night stand with another guy. Reid had practically performed a public service. He felt a little smug about it, if he was honest, and even a little good about himself. Of course it'd keep playing on his mind.
Neighbours
Lonely, grumpy Reid gets a new neighbour who changes everything ;) Reid's life is going absolutely fine. Just perfectly...fine. And then Luke moves in next door.
A Match Made in Oakdale
Ahh, the old 'trapped with the guy you hate' trope. Reid's having a really bad day when he comes to and realises he's been kidnapped. What makes it even worse is that Luke Snyder's been taken, too, and is currently standing in the cell next to his.
