Lang Lang
On Saturday night, I was fortunate enough to go to the Kodak theater and see Lang Lang play the piano! He's a really young, really talented (technique/power) piano player! yes it was very exciting, and hearing it live is so much cooler than hearing it recorded on CD or other format.
I was really disappointed by the Yellow River Concerto though. The orchestra was just... off. Especially the violins. They sounded very squeaky. My sister's violin teacher was in the orchestra, and she said they were all so excited about playing with Lang lang that they were a total mess. Not to mention they only had a 2 hour rehearsal the day before... of which 1 hour 10 minutes was spent waiting for the conductor to arrive. And then right when their time was up the Kodak theater cut off their power and kicked them off. It was very distracting from Lang lang's playing
but otherwise it was great
It was great walking around Hollywood blvd beforehand. Seeing all the stars in the sidewalk (Bruce Lee! YEAH! Pictures later... if I get around to them)
And the Chinese theater was very pretty as well. Everyplace was gorgeous. Just too many other people haha. But it was very cool going there yes yes. =D
