William....
Pastor Michael talked about David and Goliath today. And he made a reference to Braveheart and William Wallace... ahh... memories. At COSMOS, we once had a programming contest. Quite fun, actually. Kinda like battlebots, I suppose. There's a game, it's got some black-box classes and tester, your team writes some more classes and methods that define your team's bot. it was a medieval theme; knights go around killing stuff/capturing castles, peasants try to take land (not castles though), and castles make knights and peasants. Our team was called William Wallace, and true to the name, we went all-out aggro. Blitz the closest castle (this provided some REALLY fun times, like when we kept exchanging castles with another team. We blitzed theirs while they attacked ours. We both took the enemy's castle and lost our own. Then we'd go right back and try to take the closet castle (the castle we just lost) while they'd do the same. Over. and over. and over.)
Getting to the next part of the story, William Wallace was also ironic because Danica called me William. She said I looked like a William. After that a couple of the Cluster 1 peeps called me William Wallace (tribute to the contest and Danica).
I recently met Patty. She forgot my name the next time we met, and she said... omg I forgot your name... uhm... is it william??? (my jaw drops at this point)
Anyway this has absolutely nothign to do with anything other than it's an interesting set of coincidences that is distracting me from my DCE and physics and calc hw, which I haven't started.
