Happy birthday to The Boy!

The Boy has finally turned 7!

Thanks to Dayi and family for celebrating his birthday with us. As The Boy grows, he is getting more and more a "socialist". The more the merrier for him! It was a pity that Ah Gong & Ah Ma weren't around. BUT... not to worry! Thanks to technology, they were not left out of the celebration either.

Well, may my dear Boy be well and happy always!

Earlier in the day, we went to the zoo to visit The Giant Pandas. It was rather interesting, but I think once is enough.

I mean, what fun is there when the zoo let visitors in to the panda enclosure in batches and each batch has a time limit of 15mins. For that 15mins block, I had to pay $5/adult and $3/child, on top of the zoo's entrance fees. And mind you, pandas sleep alot. If I don't have the luxury of entering & leaving the enclosure at my own time (like all other enclosures in the zoo), I don't get to have quality observations of the animal. Unless I buy more time slots?!?!

It's more fun observing the Red Pandas than the snoozing Giant Panda in that 15mins limit.

Apparently such arrangement is temporary. Come Jan 2013, the new attraction River Safari will be operational and these cute fellows will be part of that attraction. Yep, they will not be part of the zoo. The small area bordering the Upper Seletar Reservoir will have THREE different-and-yet-similar attractions, The Singapore Zoo, The River Safari and The Night Safari. Each charging it's own entrance fee. Gosh... Wildlife Reserves Singapore sure knows how to make money!

Anyway, just hope that when River Safari is fully operational, the 15mins time limit will be lifted.

Girl (dislikes taking photos) must have liked the pandas very much. Kept requesting for a photo shot.

The Tiger mum and future Tiger mum.

Proboscis monkeys.

Sipping the TALL bottle of Cranberry Slush. Happy.

zoo, family fun
