Good ol' Non-Elect President Dubya is now going hog wild to quash a resolution that officially labels the "
Armenian Genocide" for what it is, a Genocide. The reason for this move is that it could possibly damage diplomatic relations with Turkey... And that's interesting since I thought the US didn't like Turkey, and vice versa.
Right wingers usually rave about "Godwin's Law" over mentioning Nazis and Hitler. This is, of course, because the Bush family has had strong ties to Hitler and the Nazis. They got in trouble under the "Trading with the Enemy" act and that was even after they escaped treason charges for the "Business Plot" where they consulted a general to attempt armed overthrow of the government to create a Nazi inspired government.
However, this isn't just history, it is entirely valid to bring up Hitler now. For Hitler drove his own "Final Solution" by bringing up history's ignorance of Turkey's genocide of the Armenians;
"I have issued the command - and I'll have anybody who utters but one word of criticism executed by a firing squad - that our war aim does not consist in reaching certain lines, but in the physical destruction of the enemy. Accordingly, I have placed my death-head formations in readiness - for the present only in the East - with orders to them to send to death mercilessly and without compassion, men, women, and children of Polish derivation and language. Only thus shall we gain the living space (Lebensraum) which we need. Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" - Adolph Hitler
And we have it all in a nutshell; The Right Wing Republican NeoCon connection to Hitler and the Nazis.
1. The assumption that anyone who disagrees with them is a traitor and deserves death.
2. The seeking of a war, not of victories or cessation of aggression, but of annihilation of a whole people.
3. The belief in absolute rightness, assuming history's forgiveness should their genocidal motives be successful.
