Mellencamp sings, mayor whines

The Mayor of Jena, Alabama is whining and crying over John Mellencamp's song; "Jena, put your nooses down" which protested the treatment of six black teenagers who faced the maximum wrath of the law when they lashed out at constant, violent racist death threats. But that's what happens when a right-winger actually faces public condemnation; they turn into whining babies.

So, here's Mellencamp's video. IMHO, in the league with Phil Ochs's "Too many Martyrs"

Try catching the people hanging nooses and other "just good ol boy fun" like Burning Crosses and other direct KKK refs, then trying them "As adults" for "Hate Crimes" and maybe the nation will believe you. As it is, the teens endured years of racial slurs then lashed out when KKK level death threats were made. A jury would likely forgive a Jew who hauled off and hit a Neo-Nazi who hassled him waving a lampshade he'd scrawled a number on and a bar of soap with a name on it and a constant stream of vulgar slurs at his face. Why not a colored person menaced by imagery of the KKK?
