~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
19 year old Arioka Daiki and 18 year old Asaka Kodai sat in their date spot, a small café away from everything famous, they were secluded and able to talk freely about their relationship, and they were having a serious talk about life, one that Daiki was not getting apparently.
“What are you talking about?” Daiki asked his long time boyfriend, he had quit JE yes and was now in a different agency and everything but still things were not good with them. Sure Asaka had fame now, not as much as Daiki but he was still out there, and that made him jealous.
“I told you, Dai-chan,” Asaka told his long time lover, “it’s time for us to go our separate ways. I’m sorry but I need to focus on my career right now.”
“What?” Daiki asked again, he heard his boyfriend, but he didn’t believe it, he refused to.
“Don’t make me repeat this Daiki-kun,” Asaka said harshly. The sound of his actual name being heard brought tears to Daiki’s eyes, not once has Asaka ever called Daiki that, and he never expected him to do that.
“Don’t call me that.”
“Sorry, Arioka-san, it won’t happen again,” Asaka said harshly then got up and rushed out of their secluded space with tears streaming down his eyes. Asaka forced himself while crying to run as far away from that place as he could. He had left Daiki sitting there completely shocked beyond all belief and probably bawling his eyes out, but Asaka didn’t care at this point. He only had one option, tell the one person he did not want to talk to, Inoo Kei.
Asaka whipped out his phone and dialled the number and waited for the familiar, “Moshi moshi” on the other end.  “Inoo-kun?”
“Asaka-kun? Weren’t you out with Dai-chan tonight?” Inoo asked through the phone
“Yeah we were, uh can you come pick him up please, he’s at our usual spot, I can’t go back there.”
“What happened?” Inoo asked with concern.
“Dai-chan and I sort of, well we kind of, we just happened to~”
“Spit it out man!” Inoo demanded.
“We broke up,” Asaka said sternly and then had to hold the phone a good foot away from his ear so he could keep his hearing through the scream that followed that statement.
“How could this happen?” Inoo asked as soon as his scream died down.
“It was time to go our separate ways, please just go get him, and as much as I hate saying this, he needs you right now.”
“Asaka, I’m going to say this one time,” Inoo said and received a grumble on the other end, “You, are an idiot.” Asaka looked shocked at the phone as the line went dead. But he didn’t care as he tossed his cell phone in the river and walked away without looking back. JE was dead to him and it was time for a new life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Inoo ran all the way to the café where he knew Daiki and Asaka’s date was happening, they were there often enough and it was easy to find, once you knew where you were going. Inoo burst through the doors and asked the man to see his friend. At first the owner was a little reluctant since he knew of the popularity of the two but he allowed it and showed the way to the secluded area for Daiki and Asaka.

“Dai-chan,” Inoo said as he pushed through the curtain. Daiki looked horrible; tears stained his face and wet his shirt as he bawled into his arms on the table. He didn’t even care that he looked like crap, Daiki felt like dying and seeing Inoo here was not about to make him any better. “Dai-chan, I’m here to take you home, let’s go.”

“I don’t want to go home. I want Kodai,” Daiki said disobediently.

“Don’t be stubborn, let’s go,” Inoo said harshly. “They have to close up, which means you have to leave.”

Reluctantly Daiki got up but was unsteady on his feet, he was still crying and didn’t really care at the moment that he was about to step out in public looking like total crap. He used Inoo as support who quickly paid the small bill and dragged him out into the street. Inoo waved a taxi over and put both of them inside it comfortably before having the driver take them to Inoo’s house. Daiki cried into his arms the entire drive, which earned them strange looks from the driver but he said nothing after Inoo shot him the “don’t-you-dare-ask” stare that he’d learned from Yabu.

Once stopped Inoo paid the man and pulled a very reluctant Daiki out of the car and up the steps to the house. Once in, he put Daiki on the couch, who immediately curled up into a ball, and then went to make sure no one else was home, luckily no one was. “We’re in luck, no one is here,” Inoo said softly and then sat down beside his friend. “Was it really that bad of a break up?”

“Yeah,” Daiki whimpered like a child who just didn’t get their way. “He told me that he wants to just focus on his career now and that being in different agencies was just going to put more strain on our relationship and that the best option, for him, would be to break it off with me.”

“Well did he consider your feelings in all of this? I mean you guys have been together for like what four years?” Inoo asked which earned him a nod and a glare from Daiki. “I’m sure he was just scared that maybe your fame was taking you away from him, and that maybe he needs to equal up to you before he can consider himself a man. Does that make sense?” Inoo asked him, Daiki just nodded. “Maybe he had other reasons, I don’t know, he just called me to go pick you up and take you home, so I did.”

“He talked to you?” Daiki asked.

“Yeah, he was the one to told me to go get you, of course he told me reluctantly saying he’d rather be talking to anyone else, so clearly he still is not a big fan of me or my friendship with you.”

“He never was,” Daiki said softly, the tears stopped now. “He was the best thing for me, I was always so happy around him, I was always much better with everything, he helped me with everything, I don’t get why he chose to leave. I never did anything to him that would make him want to leave, Kei-chan, help me, I don’t know what to do.”

“I’ll help you as best I can, for now, just lie down and try to sleep,” Inoo said in a motherly voice. “Maybe tomorrow you’ll feel better.” Daiki nodded and rested his head on the couch pillows. Inoo sat beside his friend until the other was totally asleep; tomorrow was going to be rough. Inoo, to pass the time until Daiki was completely asleep, sent a message to Yabu, who needed to be filled in on these kinds of things, and to say that he and Daiki, depending on how Daiki feels may not be at practice as well to not mention any of this to the others.

Once soft snores filled the room, Inoo set about preparing for the post break up that Daiki was going to have to endure, Inoo laid a blanket on his sleeping friend and then curled up in the comfy chair watching him. Inoo soon drifted off to sleep, and was sleeping for a good while before a scream woke him up.

Daiki was crying and whimpering in his sleep, he was having a nightmare, probably reflective on the day’s events but what could he do, either Daiki was going to have to wake himself up or face the dream head on. Unfortunately Inoo couldn’t stand the fact that Daiki was suffering so he woke his friend up. “Dai-chan, dai-chan, wake up,” Inoo shook him awake. “Are you alright? You’re having a nightmare.”

“I’m living a nightmare, I just dreamt that he broke up with me, wait what am I doing here? Oh my gosh did it actually happen? I wasn’t just dreaming?” Daiki asked and looked around, then the tears started flowing once again. “It’s all my fault.”

“No it’s not; he’s just being a baby, not getting his way. You know how he is.”

“He’s not a baby, I love him!” Daiki defended Asaka.

“Dai-chan listen to me, Asaka-kun broke up with you because he’s jealous of something he cannot control, your fame factor is the only reason, I told you, he’s probably wanting to reach the same level before he can match you or something.”

“I never cared about that before, why start now?” Daiki asked, “You just don’t like him because he never trusted you isn’t it?”

“Seriously, Dai-chan, I’m your friend, not his, I’m on your side, not his, I’m going to tell you the facts, he walked away, he could have stayed and comforted you, no he walked away and called me to go get you, hello, get this through your mind, if I’m going to have to be harsh then I will, if I have to get you to hate me then I will, he’s not going to come back, he walked away from the best thing he will ever have and he will never know where it could have gone.”

“Kei-chan, you’re so great,” Daiki said lovingly.

“Oh no you don’t, don’t you dare replace him with me. Get over him first. Until then, I’m your friend and just your friend. Dai-chan, until you can say his name without feeling anything, there will be nothing else for you.”

“I don’t know if I can do that.”

“You will eventually Dai-chan, bad break-ups take time. Trust me.”

“How would you know?” Daiki asked him seriously. “When did you ever have a relationship and didn’t tell me about it?”

“You weren’t there, it was a few years ago…with Hikaru,” Inoo trailed off.

“You dated Hikaru? When?” Daiki asked in disbelief.

“Like I said, a few years ago, I got over it, eventually. It took time. Remember when I forced myself to focus on my school work and I was on the verge of quitting JE.”

“Yeah, I remember that, it was not too long ago, how long did it take for you to get over him? Who helped you stay I mean I don’t remember very well but all of sudden you seemed more cheerful and didn’t care about anything and then things went back to normal.”

“Yup, it was you and Yabu, you two helped me through everything and it was you mostly who kept me distracted enough so that I could eventually get over him and become friends with him again, remember when we first debuted I was still edgy when I was around him but now I’m like perfectly fine,” Inoo asked, Daiki just nodded. “Yeah it was then, because of you, and I’m eternally grateful for that so I’m helping you the same way you did for me.”

“I’m glad I could help.” Daiki sniffed, “but I don’t think I’ll ever get over him.”

“You will eventually. Let’s go to sleep.” Inoo said and he watched as the younger boy put his head down and drifted off to sleep. The next few days were going to be hell. Inoo planned on keeping Daiki fully distracted so he could at least function in front of the others.

And as predicted that was what had happened. Daiki was so emotional for the next few days that every practice he had, forced him to break down and cry. This brought a lot of confused looks among the others but the look Inoo shot them when they tried to ask, made them back off. Instead they took to asking Yabu questions, because well Yabu knew everything, and then whispering behind their backs when they thought that Inoo Daiki and Yabu couldn’t hear them. They had pretty much figured it out. It wasn’t a total secret that Dai-chan was dating Asaka; they had been for a long time.

It was almost a week before Daiki could even say Asaka’s name without crying. It still made him depressed though and the fact that he was constantly with Inoo or even Yabu who had volunteered his self to help made it worse. They were helping, just not enough. Today Daiki was by himself for the first time since the incident, today he had to do it by his self because Yabu had an YY Jumping thing with Hikaru and Inoo had a test. Daiki almost broke down and locked himself in his room but he decided to venture forth and go out by himself. It wasn’t until later that he realized his mistake.

He walked his usual path and went to the usual places, but everything reminded him of Asaka. He tried to forget about him, but everything just made him more depressed. It wasn’t his fault though, Asaka gave him almost four years of love, they were each other’s firsts and they had a special bond, or at least that’s what he thought he was. Honestly he didn’t care and more, but he was at least guaranteed some time to grieve right?

That jerk was jealous of Daiki’s fame, according to Inoo, and honestly Daiki didn’t care about that, status was nothing to him, but he couldn’t help but think if the situation was opposite, would he feel the same thing as Asaka was now? and when Daiki thought like that, it became understandable that Asaka wanted to break it off.  But would Daiki have been jealous if the situation was reversed? He wasn’t the jealous type was he?

But then something caught Daiki’s eye, Asaka, he was out with a bunch of people Daiki had never seen before and he was having fun, he was laughing along with the others at something or another, and it gave Daiki a strange feeling inside. Was it sadness? Anger? Jealousy? He didn’t know, all he knew was that Asaka’s group of people was leaving this area and Asaka was going with them and Daiki was going to follow them. Unfortunately he followed them so far that he ended up getting himself lost and without any way of getting back.

Upset with himself Daiki found a box and sat on it. He stared at the wall opposite of him and thought for a long time. He had no way of getting home unless he actually went and talked to someone. His cell phone didn’t have any signal because he was in a deserted alley and he wasn’t about to be found anytime soon. The only option was to wait there until he saw someone who could lead him out of there. The sky started to get dark and still Daiki stayed put, he sat there, and there was no one in sight, he didn’t want to get up for fear of getting even more lost but the temperature of the day was dropping and he was getting chilly.

It was then he saw someone in the alley. The first person in hours, he had no idea who it was, but they were using their cell phone to light their path as they walked through it. At first Daiki thought it was Asaka but then he noticed the differences and it was actually someone he wasn’t expecting at all.

“Dai-chan?” Daiki just stared in shock as Nakajima Yuto stood in front of him with eyes of concern. “What are you doing on this side of the city? We’ve been looking for hours for you.”Daiki couldn’t say a word nor could he get up, both of his legs were asleep and so were his buttocks.  “Are you alright? Can you stand?”

“My legs are asleep,” Daiki said softly and with one swift movement Yuto pulled him up and held onto him.

“We were so worried, you should have seen Kei-chan, he was so upset when your mom told him you had left earlier in the day and hadn’t come back yet. He went searching for you in all of your usual spots but couldn’t find you so he recruited help.” Yuto led Daiki out of the alley way and then used his cell phone to call the others. “Kei-chan!” Yuto said happily on the phone, “Yes I found him, he was in an alley way without reception, oh it’s one of my shortcuts to my house, no I wasn’t leaving the search I had to check in with my mom and she prefers to see me before I go out in the dark, yeah he was sitting right here, he’s been crying though by the looks of it, yes I’m bringing him home. Call the others. Don’t worry we’ll be there soon, probably about a half hour, we have to go slow, both of his legs are asleep, no I don’t know how long he’s been there but he’s not saying much. Right now he’s staring at me as I’m holding him up. Alright we’ll see you there.” Yuto said and then slid his phone shut.

“Kei-chan’s super worried isn’t he?”

“Not any more, he’s more relieved now. You scared him though.”

“Why?”

“Are you that thick?” Yuto asked, “We all thought it was quite obvious. Are you seriously asking why he was that worried? Have you seen you for the past week? You were so like suicidal or something you were so depressed that no one could cheer you up, and then you didn’t tell anyone where you were going and the attitude you had was just scary, you could have jumped off the bridge or something and we would have never known. Doesn’t that scare the shit out of you?”

Yuto never swore so Daiki was positive that he was super serious. Yuto was scared for Daiki, he could see that, but would Yuto admit it, probably not. Either way, he allowed Daiki to lean on him until his legs woke up as they made their way back to Daiki’s house. Daiki leaned on Yuto almost the whole way, not because his legs stayed asleep but because it felt a lot better to be walking in the arms of someone who cared about him. He didn’t feel that at the moment so it was a nice change. And it wasn’t as though Yabu and Inoo didn’t care, it just felt that it was more of a pity caring than a real care, but with Yuto it was different, this was an actual caring for a friend, and it felt great.

When they got to Daiki’s house, the light in the living room was on and even from the window you could see that the room was full of people. Yuto and Daiki hobbled up the walk and before they even reached the porch Inoo had flown out of the front door and into the arms of Daiki and Yuto. “Oh my god I was so worried!!”

“He’s alright Kei-chan, you can let go of me,” Yuto said while gasping for air. Inoo let go of Yuto who grabbed his neck through his hyperventilation. “He’s alright, he was just sitting there, lost, and that’s all.”

“Doesn’t matter,” Inoo said softly with his arms still around Daiki. “My brain went through all of the scenarios and each one was worse than the next, what happened? Tell me everything.”

“Are you sure you want to do that tonight in front of everyone?” Yabu said at the top of the porch.

“Yes, right now.” The four of them went back inside to join the others before Inoo demanded answers, “Where the heck, were you and why in the world did you go there by yourself.”

“I went for a walk, Kei-chan, that’s all. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going and took a few wrong turns. That’s all. Instead of getting myself more lost I decided to sit down. It was both logical and stupid because it soon got dark and I completely forgot which direction I had come from and the alley had no reception so it wasn’t like I could call anyone.

“Dai-chan, Kei-chan was just scared for you, that’s all,” Chinen said softly.

“He was almost hysterical when he called us,” Ryutaro said. “It was hard to say no.”

“I didn’t mean to worry anyone. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was and I happened to take a few wrong turns that’s all. It’s really alright, nothing happened to me. I’m sorry for worrying you, but honestly you can all go home now, I’m super tired and we have an early practice.”

“Alright, we’re just glad you’re safe,” Hikaru said softly. “C’mon guys, let’s go, Dai-chan is right, early practice means early sleep.”

“Boo!” Yamada announced, but they all agreed and filed out of Daiki’s house except for Inoo and Yabu.

“Alright, tell us the real reason,” Inoo demanded.

“What are you talking about?” Daiki asked, shocked that they didn’t believe the truth, well the half truth at least.

“You’re lying to us, what were you paying attention to if not your surroundings?” Yabu asked. Clearly he saw right through Daiki’s half-lie.

“Nothing.”

“You’re still lying, tell us. What was it?”

“It was nothing, I wasn’t following anybody.”

“You were following someone? It was Asaka wasn’t it; you saw him and followed him. Why?” Inoo asked.

“Because he was having a good time out with people I had never met before and I wanted to see what he was up too but he walked away from me without noticing and they cut down that alley but I had stopped to tie my shoe and got lost.”

“Why were you following him? Were you jealous? Jealous that he was happy and you were miserable?”

“Yes, I can’t explain it, but when I saw him so happy all I wanted to do was strangle him and everyone he was with, my brain said that he should be as miserable as I was so I wanted to follow them and I did.

“You really are a jealous monster aren’t you? Who would have thought,” Yabu smiled.

“Just don’t do that again,” Inoo told him. “You scared me today, your depression really made me think the worst things and it was bad enough that we couldn’t call you, which just made it worse.”

“I’m really sorry. You know I wouldn’t want to intentionally hurt you, I like you guys too much to hurt you in that way.”

“What?” they were taken aback.

“I couldn’t hurt you guys in that way, he walked away, and I realize now that only time can fix my pain, thank-you you two for helping me with everything. He didn’t have to walk away, but he chose to and now I have to suffer the consequences of being in love with an idiot.”

“Yes, yes you do,” Yabu said softly.

“I know exactly what you mean,” Inoo said agreeing, “when Yabu and Hikaru got together I was so mad but I got over it eventually and eventually you will get over Asaka.”

“You’re feelings will eventually walk away and then they’ll just be good memories,” Yabu said softly.

“Thanks guys, I appreciate it. But I’m super tired, are you staying or leaving?” Daiki asked.

“Staying,” they both said together.

“Good.” Daiki said, and they put down a few sleeping bags and went right to sleep. And for the first time in a week, Daiki didn’t cry himself to sleep, he didn’t have dreams about Asaka and he didn’t feel guilty about having fun with his friends.

Author’s Note: so how was that? Honestly I don’t know how I felt about it, I like it but I don’t at the same time. Anyways leave your comments so I can figure out where I went wrong.
