Disturbing Dreams

So last night I had my first really disturbing dream in a while. And I felt that it needed the space that LJ would provide--sorry I've been neglecting my LiveJournal...

Anyway, so the dream involved a comic (sort of) about a Japanese family with a father, a (bi-racial) mother, the mother's parents, a son, and two daughters. The mother used to be a ballerina and would sometimes dance after dinner (the dream was fairly focused on dinner). The son, through whom I sometimes saw, was seen as a pain by the father--he needed special food because he hated the taste of fish or couldn't handle fish--I don't remember exactly, but it was the same way with the mother (who actually cooked the dinner). Anyway, the elder sister was making fun of the mother by saying something like "well, can't you just imagine if she used the wrong kind of liquid on her dance shoes and was in horrible pain after dancing after dinner? That'd be SO FUNNY HAHAHAHAHHAHA."

Then the disturbing part happened--the younger daughter, I guess about kindergarten age, said something that irked the father--showing that she wasn't special or the best at anything. So he and the elder daughter (his favorite child) beat her. To death. Thankfully at least half of this was in the other room--during which time the maternal grandparents helped show the son/brother that the father had files on all people related to the family and was obsessed with being the best at, well, something. And having each member of his family being the best at something. Then the father came back in, and the brother kicked him, as hard as possible, in the groin.

Then, the father gets a bright look on his face--he starts yelling about 260 psi--or something--and decides he's proud of his son, who's just kicked him in the groin harder than anyone else has ever kicked anyone in the groin. Then he goes online to blog about it.

And then I woke up. Disturbing, eh?
