So, I know that military guys are supposed to take off their hats when they go inside a building. And I think the VMI guys have to take their hats off to girls. But...what if they don't know for sure that you're a girl? There was a person in Zelma's the other day, and Ali, Stina, and I just couldn't tell. Do you take your hat off to be on the safe

A favourite thing on RAF bases used to be to salute the new officers who were riding around on bikes. The new ones hadn't learnt yet that they didn't have to salute back :)
