Finally hooked up with C for coffee yesterday after many, many weeks.
With the upcoming marriage and home sell/buy, she's been at her wits end and (naturally) ran herself down. A good example of what managing 12 studies and a life can do to a body. I really feel, though, like she's the only person who understands that deer in the headlights phase you hit when you're so spent, you can't even help yourself out of it or know to ask for help. So she understands four days sans tac, but realizes the severity of the problem. So close to the precipice, yet always pulling back somehow. We promised to call each other the next time we were in crisis. A gesture that won't be honored because we know when we get to that point, we won't remember how to dial a telephone number. Sigh.

Dinner meeting was sans dinner as our pharmacist had already eaten (to avoid the conflict of no gifts, no meals policy). I needed dinner and DSP hadn't eaten all day. I was feeling pretty toxic by the end of the meeting and could have cleaned windows with the ammonia I was generating.

After the lunch meeting, I ran home, walked Mr. Pup and fried up a piece of catfish that I'd thawed for last night's dinner. I assumed we'd be eating out, so I wanted to cook it so it wouldn;t spoil. As an aside, my wonderful rattan meditation chair and teak bench arrived and they were well worth the investment. Gaiam sells such good stuff in general. Now I am thinking i need the solar lantern and hte towel rack.... More and more it feels like home, if a bit buried in moving boxes...

It was a good meeting, if a bit on the cheerleader market-y side. I am sold already and really would have preferred a nice meal to make the meeting a bit more engaging for me. Great folks. A shame I don't like their CRO company.
I sense that all of us want a bigger show than the PI, but I am hoping she'll become more enthusiastic. It's an in on the money that this company could make in the future. Share the wealth! Too bad for that damn no gift policy.

The ride home was "short" but I was a bit low when I got home. Fortunately for me, I had made some brown rice a few nights ago for "future consumption. Had a huge bowl of it with some mexican blend shredded cheese and Newman's pineapple salsa. Topped that off with two big tablespoons of fudge swirl directly from the Breyer's tub (no, I don't do that with guest ice cream) and it was off to bed. With the windows wide open to the chilly, damp air. I slept quite fine and no night sweats.
