Drunken purchasing
So, Thursday night darwins_fox and I went out to dinner, and split a bottle of wine. As we are both complete lightweights, we were both buzzed enough by the end of dinner that we of *course* had to have dessert (at least we split one, and it was very very tasty). And we were still buzzed enough after dessert that we wandered around downtown Amherst, and into Amherst Books. Aaaaaaaaaaand got a whole bunch of books, most of them used (Fight Club, Harlan Ellison's Angry Candy in hardcover, ditto War and Peace), some of them not (a book on invasive species, a telling of the Moses section of Exodus done with Legos). Laden down with those and many more, we *still* needed a bit of time before I was definitely good to drive, and a less wallet-raiding pass through Newbury Comics later (Criterion Edition of Throne of Blood was on sale), we went home.
We should definitely not be allowed to bookshop under the influence.
Yesterday, keitichandesu and Tiffany came by and we played GH for a while; Tiffany schooled me once she got warmed up. Then again, she's making her way through on Expert, so that wasn't a big surprise. Speaking of GH, I've gotten all the way to the second-to-last venue on Hard, and failed my first song, "No One Knows." Gods, I thought it was bad enough on Medium...
