There's no place I can be

I made it to VA, safe and sound. I actually made it here on the 8th - after hitting some trouble at my Grandfather's (the alternator on one of cars decided to die). We were supposed to have our phone line already set up and working. SUPPOSED. That never happened. They're hooking it up now on the 18th. Which wouldn't be a big deal except that my Earthlink subscription runs out on the 17th - so I could have had unrestricted internet access if the phone had been hooked up.

As it is now, I'm on my Dad's laptop (because another piece fell off of mine and I don't have a desk for my desktop yet), stealing wireless internet from my neighbor. I'd feel bad, but...I'm desperate! And the only place in town that had free wifi was a McDonald's. Yeah. I'm not going to sit at McDonald's for three hours to use their internet. We're getting cable internet installed on the 17th. Dad's going to set up a secure wireless network, so I should be able to access our cable i-net from my laptop. At least until I get my desktop all squared away.

Other than that, I've been exhausted. I've had next to no time to write because we're still trying to sort through the millions of boxes and try to start unpacking. They totally lied to us about the square footage this place has - because we're cramped. My room is so small, I have to buy a new dresser because mine is too wide for any of the walls. Which means finding a desk for my computer is even harder because it has to be small. Grrr.

I'm hoping things will get easier soon. Or we'll take a break and sight-see enough to put me in a better mood. I'll keep you guys posted when I can. The only problem with this wireless connection is it cuts in and out - and it's only up at really odd times. So, I'll make do with what I can, but you're gonna have to wait for any more stories and/or icons. At least until I get a break here. Or I suddenly find the energy to do physical labor all day and then stay up all night writing. We'll see.

The one little piece of good news: We sold our house in WA. For a little less than our asking price, but enough that we're still making a nice little profit!
