Timeline Question
ceslas had this question: When in the timeline does the crew settle more or less permanent like on Avery? Do they live on Serenity for several years (Working with Hez and 2x2 on some Alley/Matt/Gus fics and would love to know when residence happens...) And yes, that story arc is taking on a life of its own!
This is my view and I don't think it conflicts with anyone's story. I think that after Mal is shot and heals on Avery, the crew takes Abel on as a full time customer. Most of the time in whiskey runs you take whiskey out with some other cargo and bring something back. For instance, they're going to need a LOT of sugar. So I think for about another six months (flexible time), they'll stay on Serenity. Then I think Inara will get pregnant. I think that will cause Mal to think it's too dangerous for her to be on the ship because he's still taking a few dangerous jobs. They rent a cottage in Paraiso. River stays with Mal & Inara. Simon will stay at his clinic. I think Kaylee might move in with Abigail? Not sure about Kaylee. Someone that does Kaylee/Simon should decide that. Jayne and Zoe stay on the ship.
So that's about 15 or 16 months. I think they stay in town for about another year, then Abel is going to sell some ranch land to Mal. But they're still going to be running the moonshine.
If you see any problems let me know. There's a lot of stuff in my head about the town but that doesn't make it canon. If you've got a better idea, just write it down here, we'll work around it. I' m not good with The Big Picture.
