Heh.
Parents evening, or 'parents tutorials' at Lucy's new school tonight.
I'm so proud that she passed the exam to go to this school - QEGS was founded by royal charter granted by Elizabeth 1st in 1567 and is one of the leading schools in the area. The headmaster made national headlines recently by claiming the national curriculum is rubbish, the education minister doesn't know her brief and calling for educational reform. I say good for him!
I'm so brimming with pride tonight because the results of Lucys recent CAT tests were revealed. The national average is 100 and she scored between 137 and 140 in the three categories. This places her in the top 4% in the country. Which just goes to show that she is highly intelligent. The school say they can't lift her ratings as she is already in the top league but they can help her fulfill her potential.
Her form teacher says she is advanced in English, Maths, Music and Art.
Oh, there is no prouder parent in the land tonight!
Lucy of course, just says "Oh, shut up Mum!" she is so uncomfortable with my pride. I do tell her that I'm just proud anyway, and not to feel the burden of expectation on her young shoulders. It's just nice to have my own feelings about how special she is confirmed by the school. I did overhear three other sets of parents getting their childs CAT scores and none of them were told anything as glowing as I was. So, I know it is not something told to all parents.
I'm trying not to show off, but I could sing and dance with pride.
