Today I spent the entire day inside. My landlords are re-doing their roof, so there was debris everywhere, some blocking my door for a while. As inconvenient as it was, I didn't mind so much (although Simon was dying to go out), as I didn't have any plans to go anywhere, plus, it was cooler in my place, even with the windows closed (I had to keep

I never ride on the sidewalk, never cut pedestrians off, always make room for people to get off the skytrain when I am forced to take it back downtown, show everyone that I can respect when biking, always signal, always stop for stop signs/red lights, ducklings crossing the road, etc.
While I agree with you that blocking traffic is kinda sucky, Critical Mass isn't just about wanting respect - it's about encouraging cities to adopt the construction of more bicycle infrastructure. The adoption of more infrastructure for cyclists benefits pedestrians and transit takers too because it gets more cars off the road and gives less priority to people who want to drive everywhere, making it safer and faster for those transit users and pedestrians.
And there's a big difference between "bad drivers" around cyclists and anything that cyclists could do to annoy drivers - it's a matter of life and death practically every time a cyclist goes out there. A car weighs at least a tonne; my bike with me on it weighs less than 200 lbs. It gets a bit frustrating when you get "almost killed" nearly every day. I doubt that the amount of annoyance those cyclists could do to those drivers could even compare.

Uh, yeah. Cyclists complain about drivers, but as a pedestrian, I have to deal with both drivers and cyclists! I know this feeling very well, and I am sick of it! Pedestrians really get the least amount of respect.
And I'm still not cool with the Critical Mass thing. Thankfully I am not out during those times, but if I got stuck in that crowd, whether in a car or on foot, I would be fucking pissed off. Making it tough for people to get around the city--whether by foot, bike, or car--is not cool.
