It is the eve of the new year.
Happy last day of 2014! Well, for me. I think it's already 2015 in the UK. Or close to it. Happy New Year, you guys!
I am sitting around in my underwear for now, waiting to get enough gumption up to take a shower and do stuff. Going to my parents tonight and make lobster tail. I am going to poach it in butter. It is a French method called beurre monte. I do not know what that means, but probably 'buttery heaven' or something. I feel like Julia Child will be peering over my shoulder and commanding "WHISK FASTER, FASTER! OH, WHISK LIKE THE WIND YOU LITTLE TURNIP!"
(I've watched the movie 'Julie and Julia' too many times.)
I bought Winston some pure meat canned doggie dinner to mix with his kibble, and he is, even now, giving me the 'I am starving to death' eyes of doom, even though it is a full half hour before his dinner time.
It is absolutely frigid outside, with high winds and the wind-chills are below zero. The sunset is kind of spectacular though.
I have the rest of the week off, and life is okay!
I am going to bring the movie Best in Show tonight, because I really feel like watching that again, and it is the best.
