Good grief, it's finally fairly clear that spring is really here. Winter really held on with all the teeth and claws it had going for it, didn't it? In the US and Canada anyway. And it's still cool, with days of rain and bad weather, but at least we're having more and more days of sun and warmth

But at the end of last season (I think?), there's a sociopath who rapes and murders, but always gets off on a technicality and moves on to another jurisdiction. Anyway, he ends up as a suspect in an SVU case, gets off, ends up in Liv's apartment and abducts her in the finale. This season's premiere he's killing people and dragging Liv around with him for like two episodes, but I don't think he actually rapes her (though he does torture her a bit). Lots of therapy for Liv. She gets promoted to Sergeant just in time for Munch and Cragen to retire and she takes over the squad.
Sociopath comes back in a more recent episode (broke out of jail), kidnaps Liv with a little kid and makes her play Russian roulette while the kid watches. He kills himself with his non-dominant hand to make it look like Liv killed him and last week was all about the Brooklyn DA wanting to prosecute her for murder, but the grand jury doesn't indict after a lot of flashbacks and whatever.
I think either just before the Sociopath comes back or just after, she and Cassidy break up (I haven't been watching that closely) because she's working all the time and also won't tell him a single thing about what Sociopath did during her abduction, so she's all closed off. He keeps working undercover (cause Dean Winters has AllState commercials to film, I suppose), so they keep missing each other and basically, he wants her to share and she won't. Also she had a pregnancy scare (which even if Olivia is younger than Mariska still seems ridiculous), but of course, it was negative. I can't remember if she tells Cassidy or not.
So, yeah, lots of Olivia torture and she was happy with a guy for about two seconds before being abducted, tortured and almost raped. And now she's alone again (probably because Dean Winters had a pilot picked up - or at least filmed one).
