Kathy is back!

*dances jubilantly*

I got to spend the whole day yesterday with her and her father, a charming little hispanic guy. I have no idea what his name is (ETA: It's Jose), but he was cool with me calling him Papi. He's the same age as my father, and he speaks Spanish and Italian with a little English, but enough for us to get along alright. He probably spoke more but he let me know from the beginning that he was going to help me learn Spanish, so little to no coddling from him. But he did buy me lunch and bought a nice blu-ray dvd player for the apartment, so that's alright.

Yesterday my parents went to the Iowa State fair with some friends and had a really nice time, I guess. Since it's about a half hour drive south, Romulo and I went and picked them up last evening and brought them back up here to spend the night. We stayed in my apartment, which was a mistake. I was spoiled last year. The upstairs neighbors, with the exception of that one night they had a party and the normal day-to-day noise, were relatively silent.

Last night at 11:30, as I lay awake on the living room floor beside the couch were mom slept, we listened to a guy violently vomit about four times. Mom was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he had the flu, but the only flu that guy had was brown bottle induced. Hopefully this was just because it is the week before classes start and they don't have any studying they need to do. Hopefully.

And just in case tonight is worse, I am spending the night with Romulo again. Well, I was only going to stay here if Kathy was, but her dad doesn't leave until tomorrow, so she's staying in the hotel with him. So I'm home free, baby! And thank god too. My parents left about four hours ago and I haven't seen a soul since then. I'm bored as sin and getting restless. I have friends all over the place who just came into town, and I offered my services to help them, and they didn't accept. So now I feel like a definite social pariah. Romulo said he'd be done at about six, so I should have less than an hour left, but that's not the point, really. The point is that I should be unpacking that box of books to my left but I don't feel like touching it.

So... yeah.
