2005, a sucktastic year continues...

Well, in this case, it's more the accumulated damage of 9 years with the evil empire and poor priorities (work over pretty much everything else).

Went into the ER for an eye problem (loose top layer of corneal tissue was stretching or tearing due to dry eye issues), where they noted my blood pressure was 220/120. Apparently that's rather bad. I did get a shot of percoset for my eye pain that was pretty trippy.

Visited my family Dr for a checkup, bp was still 200/110. So I'm on Lisinopril now. Plus got fun followup visits with the Cardiologist, Chest XRay folks, Echocardigram, and later this week, kidney ultrasound. Not to mention several blood draws, and the fun of getting to pee in a 1/2 gallon jug for 24 hours.

They added a second bp medication, Norvasc, which seems to have my bp down to 140/90. At least it does when I'm not at the Doctor. When I go in to see the Dr, it shoots up to 200/110 again. blech.

So, I need to adjust my priorities, start getting some decent exercise, continue watching my diet.

The joys of getting older. Oh, and whomever told me they don't do the prostate exam the old way, but instead just check your blood was wrong. Fortunately, female doctor, smaller hands. :)
