17 | {harry potter} silent vigil

I bring...vaguely Harry Potter-ish poetry! I wrote this right after I'd gone to see HP6 for a second time, and it should be pretty obvious what it's about, but I hope it doesn't feel like it solely applies to Harry Potter!

Oh, man. *sob* This is really sad and lovely, and I like the repetition you have going, particularly in
they are dead and gone
and gone and dead
and also with the silent vigil theme running through it. Also! OMG OMG OMG. *ded* THIS.
and the anarchy between us will erupt
into a graveyard of sticks and stones and blood-on-grass with
lilies
There is something about that one short 'lilies' after those two lines that makes me want to go cry in a corner. SO FABULOUS. And also!
in a bleak land of hope
I love the contradiction, because bleak lands aren't generally considered hopeful and also, if you switch the position of two words you have in a land bleak of hope which means exactly the opposite thing. So cool! I really like it.

*blushes furiously and is incredibly flattered* OH BB.

I'm so glad you liked it! :D

And, YAY, you liked the contradiction! Contradiction and paradox are possibly my favorite things about poetry and fic. SO IF YOU LIKEY, ME HAPPY. /grammarfail

oooohhh, shivery. I like the rhythm here and the consonance (with tenderness/drowsiness), and I looove the lines and the anarchy between us will erupt / into a graveyard of sticks and stones and blood-on-grass.
