17 | {harry potter} silent vigil

I bring...vaguely Harry Potter-ish poetry! I wrote this right after I'd gone to see HP6 for a second time, and it should be pretty obvious what it's about, but I hope it doesn't feel like it solely applies to Harry Potter!

Title: silent vigil
Rating: G
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairings/Characters: N/A
Word Count: 160
Summary: the sky is dark/light sheds

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

we hold here a silent vigil
upon the dappled stones of one straight black
the sky is dark
light shed by means unknown breaks it into
pieces of broken dark
for we are still
broken

and the anarchy between us will erupt
into a graveyard of sticks and stones and blood-on-grass with
lilies
flowers and a white coffin
arrows and the lull of song shoot the soul
beyond the sickness
into framed fantasies of tenderness
into a worshipful state of drowsiness

so they can come
seek advice from the revered and
powerful

no longer so

they are dead and gone
and gone and dead
and so we hold the silent vigil
for the one once a leader
and will now rot like the rest of us
so he was not unlike us after all
he will rot
we will rot
he is our kind as we are his
in a bleak land of hope
for this we hold the vigil
