No joke. Now I want to buy it as a joke for a friend. Who loathes durian.
Interesting quote: If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
Stuck in another food coma. Oh bloody hell. :) Had a belated Australian Day barbie at a friend's house. Everyone was decked with Australian flags, food, napkins and what not. I felt as if I was drowning in Australian flags. If I didn't know the flag till now, I sure did, by the end of the night. There was a spit, kebabs, curry, salads (we had a table full dedicated to salads), Vietnamese pork skewers, Chinese noodles, Singaporean noodles (I don't think this even exists in Singapore to be honest) and Russian salad. (The Russian salad tasted like a Big Mac with beetroot. No joke. I haven't had one since the 1999s, since they were huge back and then well, my jaw is too small and I couldn't eat them. Stupid excuse, I know, but I still can recall the taste. Oddly enough
Overall it was a good night, despite the endless loop of Gangnam Style for the kids and Land Down Under which the kids seemed to love dancing to. It was cute watching them and then wondering where do they get the energy?! And the fact I was stressing out the night before, because I was making jam (don't ask why I was making jam at 3 am. I like to make things harder for myself. I thrive on stress making lamington balls and then making tiramisu. Which resulted in the kitchen smelling of Baileys and coffee. I still have a glassful of Baileys and coffee though and no idea what to do with it. I might make pudding, since I'm not too keen to drink it. :(
And the other three things I learnt from Sydney. Which I'm sure everyone will be rolling their eyes.
- You're interstate, if you must be ringing home remember to put 03 in front. Or else you would be ringing a random in Sydney. As I did. When I rang work to inform them I wasn't going to be in and got a strange woman's voice answering. Which wasn't possible as it was 10pm, only to realise oh wait. Different state. Right.
- I can't read maps to save my life. So if you go traveling with me. I'm entrusting you with our safety. Considering when ever we set out, I always go in the opposite direction, much to my friend's amusement.
- I still don't know what is jerk sauce. But it's tasty
And sadly the monorail is going to close in June. :( Pity. It was good while it lasted and I wonder what they're going to do with the tracks afterwards,
