I'm not scheduled to work tomorrow, and it's a relief. Between my Friday night closing shift and my Saturday opening shift I served $1,500 in food/drinks/etc. Now I'm exhausted.
Paul picked me up after work and took me to the
Noble Horse Gallery in Seattle which is the only Stubben distributor in the area. The Pioneer Square store is their more tourist friendly location but they still had a few almost $3,000 saddles that I got to caress and drool all over.
Two saddles in particular caught my eye. The
Stubben Scout which was developed for the Mountain Police and would be a great trail saddle for Paul and Traveler, and the
Stubben Imperator VSS in two tone Black/Testa (more of a green than shown in the pic).
I would love to have the Imperator for Darcy but I just bought him a new Dressage saddle and I can't justify another saddle purchase so soon : (
We skipped across the street to the
Elliot Bay Book Company where I found a copy of "Tug of War: Classical verses "Modern" Dressage" which I'd been looking for along with "Hunter Seat Equitation" by George Morris which apparently isn't carried by Borders, Barnes and Noble, Half-Price Books, the Renton Public Library, OR Noble Horse Gallery.
We had an early dinner at
Quickies on Capitol Hill (just looking at the website made me hungry again) right when we got to Seattle so we sat down with a rice milk chai, a caramel latte, and some vegan mini dounuts to appreciate the ambiance of the old building's basement before heading home.
I don't know what I'll do with myself tomorrow. I can't remember the last time I had a whole day off. Any suggestions?
