I haven't posted to my own journal in... forever, it seems, though I have been around and posting elsewhere. I am way behind on fic reading and commenting though; hope to rectify that this weekend! While most of TV is on hiatus for a bit, I've been rewatching "The Young Riders" via Netflix streaming. It was a show that I loved when I was 14, and I kind of wanted to see if it stood the test of time at all. (Basic premise: show follows a Pony Express station and its riders right before the Civil War - starring Josh Brolin, Steven Baldwin, Melissa Leo, and others). Surprisingly, it's not bad. The overuse of electric guitar Western music gets on my nerves, and of course some of the storylines are ridiculous, but on the whole I'm enjoying it. And I just watched the Season 1 finale, which guest starred Cynthia Nixon as a mousy mail-order bride, LOL!
(Now my brain is having all kinds of SG-1/Wild West cravings, so I will have to watch this and read this and its companion pieces again. Any other suggestions?)
