Guess what I just did? Replaced a light switch! And I only had to call my dad once (I didn't know if the white and black wires had to be connected to specific terminals - evidently it doesn't matter so much for switches). For some reason the previous owner put a dimmer switch in the second bedroom, and it was buzzing so much that I decided to get rid of it and put in a regular switch. I am handywoman, w00t!

The rain has come back to the PNW... I think it's going to be one of those kinds of autumns, as we are in a La Nina pattern. I just hope we don't get too much snow again this winter. And since I spent like $50 on spring bulbs today (daffodils, tulips, allium, crocus, and bearded iris), it has to stop raining soon so I can get them in the ground! I am going to carpet bomb the front yard with daffodils and it will be epic. *nods*

In other gardening news, I picked a whole, large bowl of Italian plums yesterday - they are so good! There are a ton more on the tree, but up so high I'm not sure how I'm going to pick them. :S

On Sunday I am going here for dinner with friends to celebrate my new job and you know, just to go taste Maria Hines' food! In August, she beat Iron Chef Morimoto in Battle Cod (someone actually beat Morimoto on a fish challenge!) and she's won all kinds of awards and accolades before that, so it should be pretty amazing. I will report back on the experience on Monday!

This is me every time I step outside. And I hope the "horrible" parts of this one don't happen to me now that I am working from home full time. God, I love The Oatmeal. I should see if he's doing any local speaking events - he lives in Seattle, don'tcha know!
